Won't be surprised if we saw a new Warriors game.

The phrasing "publishing and development partners" is kinda interesting. Not that I'm expecting anything but does that mean there could be at least one (small) first-party title shown here?
We already know of one (Endless Ocean), but maybe another title could show up. Something like Paper Mario.

It could be an external affiliate pops up, but that's a big list (Intelligent Systems, Game Freak, HAL, Arika, Creatures, indieszero, Good-Feel and so on). It doesn't necessarily mean a Nintendo license will show up.

This early of an announcement makes me feel like some other Nintendo-related news will be dropping tomorrow. Peach Showtime previews? Side Order reviews? Pokémon Presents date?

Anyway, hyped for Penny.

I do NOT particularly hope SMTV Vengeance shows up here, since my primary hope for that is there's a PC version with upgraded visuals and performance.

Here's what I'm thinking:
  • Endless Ocean
  • Pentiment
  • Hi-Fi Rush
  • Pocket Card Jockey
  • Fantasy Life
  • Penny's Big Breakaway
  • A big third party game I won't be able to guess
  • Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door HD
I'm notably expecting Paper Mario because of the new branding and description. Intelligent Systems is a development partner.
pyoro speaks about a big third party game?

SMTV sold like 1 million on Switch and is the most successful non-Persona Atlus RPG to date so even if it's multiplat I wouldn't be surprised if they still used a Nintendo event as the marketing vehicle, Switch will likely still have the biggest audience for it; at least on consoles and especially in Japan.

If Endless Ocean 3 is there we've reached top kino. If its just a remake, I'll forgive it I guess because its at least acknowledging the franchise exists.

But imagine a new game ...

I feel like Nintendo is announcing this at such a weird time to let us know not to rely on patterns for this year lol

Pokemon day is next week Tuesday too so we will get a few big announcements if all goes well

TTYD, Pokemon, and Elden Ring DLC will hopefully hold me over until Switch 2 next year

They also showed of SMTIIIHD for the first time in Direct when they rerevealed the original SMTV.
SMTIII was multiplat so being ina direct doesnt mean exclusive.

Note that description: "Our publishing AND DEVELOPMENT partners"
I wouldn't get your hopes up too high. I believe this was the only other time Nintendo used that exact language to announce a Partner:

And the only Nintendo-related reveal was DLC for Cadence of Hyrule, a title originally revealed in an Indie World developed by Brace Yourself Games.

I'm willing to bet this time it's different. Mostly because one Nintendo published game got leaked already.

I am confused, why are people speculating Endless Ocean?

I am not saying the series is bad or that they aren't fun, but I haven't heard of any rumors regarding the series.

Damn, maybe a SMT5 complete edition too? Honestly Endless Ocean and that are pretty cool for me, that would make it pretty good.

There’s some discussion on Twitter about a rumor but I’m not up to date on the who what where when.

understandable, it seemed to come out of nowhere for me to, thanks for the reply.

Please keep any potential open Direct announcement spoilers from sources like Pyoro in the speculation thread. -mariodk18, xghost777, MissingNo.
So are we thinking like:
  • [*]endless ocean (something)
    [*]smt5 vengeance (complete edition)
    [*]microsoft games
    [*]pocket card jockey port
    [*]
IDK thats pretty cool for a smaller commercial.

What a weird time for this announcement. I'd thought they would announce it tomorrow morning (Or Wed morning for a Thursday showcase)

I'm excited for this. I'm always excited for new announcements. I did want to say that I don't understand why some are not excited just because pyoro isn't. What if they don't like games that you like? I have zero interest in silksong, but at least %90 of this forum would explode if it got even a release date. I would just say, neat.

In the end, all I'm trying to say is why base your excitement on someone else's excitement that you don't even know?

Sorry, I'm just yelling at clouds. Which partner studio is doing the eternal darkness remaster that will be announced in this direct?
