But what's next? They can't just end it at two. What will be the third game to complete this 3 strategy trilogy? Requirements: some use of the number 3 in the title and some vague gameplay mechanic about having three choices.

Disgaea Triple Devils?
Valkyria Chronicles Tri Nations?
Jeanne d'Arc Tres Revolution?
 
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 3 and you know it. This time it'll have 3 protagonists, one of them being Chocobo.
 
Final Fantasy Tactics Trilogy with the original game, the GBA game and the DS game.
 
Nintendo can't move on to the next generation before we get a third game here. It would clearly and objectively be the wrong thing to do.

Simply being the third game in a series or being a collection of three games is not good enough! One cannot simply stumble upon the three. Three must be fully embraced to become core to the game itself. It must live and breath three.

Well... the upcoming Diofield Chronicle has 3 kingdoms so I suppose it counts.

If you want to be truly mindblown though, the upcoming Advance Wars 1+2 counts too because 1+2=3. God damn.
 
Konami doing a collection for the Vandal Hearts trilogy which they will call:

Vandal Hearts: Three Me

And Square will announce a new IP SRPG called:

Ternary Battle (Ogre Battle style game, except with three sides fighting at the same time).

SMT Devil Survivor: Unholy Trinity. As always you'll be able to choose between Lawful, Chaotic, and Neutral routes, and as a bonus it's the third game in the series.
