A reveal that you have been waiting so long for that you fist pump the air in excitement!

What headlines would make you feel this way? I guess the main headline for everyone here would be “Super Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 announced” but outside of that, what headlines/forum topic would have you the most excited if you were to see it? Some for me would be.

"Super Mario Journey" is actually a pretty decent title. Compared to the word "Odyssey" (which essentially means the same thing) it sounds a bit underwhelming though.

"Capcom announces Nintendo vs. Capcom! You've seen Mega Man and Ryu fight Mario and Link in Smash! Now, Capcom's best wants to do it their way!"
this reminds me of tatsunoko vs capcom. would be so interested in that!

"Nintendo forms new internal studio headed by Chihiro Fujioka, BetaDream"

"Intelligent Systems making third Card Hero, launches worldwide 2024"

“All Video Game and Toy Companies Agree to IP Ceasefire, Cancel All Film & TV Operations Save One Adaptation Every Five Years That Must Be At Least As Chaotically Removed From Source Material As Super Mario Bros. (1993)”

to clarify, that’s not “each company can have a five-year cycle” — they have to take turns. like a shitty little olympics

"Capcom announces Nintendo vs. Capcom! You've seen Mega Man and Ryu fight Mario and Link in Smash! Now, Capcom's best wants to do it their way!"
This, but also "Capcom announces Resident Evil spin-off for Switch" where the game is a third person survival horror spin-off set in a feudal Japanese temple starring Rebecca Chambers where the game takes aspects of Resident Evil and Silent Hill and merges them (ala the Chainsaw Man demo) with a purple color scheme and enemy designs reminiscent of a feudal Japan Bloodborne. There are still guns and it would be set in modern times, but it would really lean into that aesthetic of the mystical and spiritual in a ancient Japanese setting.

Oh also, a third person Mega Man action adventure platformer. With a big hub and Dark Souls like Metroidvania-lite level design, where each area branches off the hub and some of the areas even interconnect together. You can go to any area at any time, and the hub is essentially a city in a jungle that is divided into branching paths that can lead you to whichever area you choose to do first (the city basically acts as the Mega Man select screen). Despite the inhabitants being robots, the game would have a very naturalistic art style with a lot of beautiful varied environments, while still remaining cartoony for the character designs.

So basically Mega Man X in 3D

wait, this is a Nintendo forum?

Artepiazza and Nintendo working on all new SMRPG 2

Chibi-Robo Gamecube gets a full remake

Wave Race returns with a brand new game

Mario Musou

Endless Ocean returns with a brand new game

Super Nintendo Baseball is happening, and it includes teams from Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Splatoon, Kirby, and Pikmin

Xenoblade X 2: Mechs on Mechs on Mechs

Earthbound Trilogy gets remade in a claymation/toyetic style

Luigi's Mansion 4: it's a whole town now, Silent Hill style

Nintendo Fashion Dolls line(how have they not already done this? Nintendo is nothing but a bunch of missed opportunities huh)

Oh, and Donkey Kong is a cool and refreshing series again

Metroid Prime 4 trailer : mind melting

Skies of Arcadia Remake

Right now, probably the most basic thing is the new hardware announcement. Tired of waiting, and there's not a lot else that'll make me go "Whoa!" from Nintendo. They're gonna make new games in their main series as they always have, and new things are hard to predict. New Mario, Zelda, ARMS, etc. wouldn't be a surprise, new remakes aren't that surprising... maybe the exception is Famicom Detective Club. I'd be very excited for more of that, including new stories. Smash is also hype incarnate.

Otherwise, yeah, just new NSO service announcements for "expected" things. Saturn, Dreamcast, TG16, Commodore 64, whatever. I guess it's kind of unlikely we'll get arcade/NeoGeo since those are being sold en masse by Arcade Archives... but Saturn NSO in particular would be the most amazing thing ever, and it's already known that M2 has been working on Saturn emulation.

"Phantasy Star Online ep 1&2 now available on NSO with online play!"

The greatest announcement of all time.
