there's been two moments where they almost pulled it off prior to this.
for one, a certain Japanese publisher made a retail release on PS5 for that region. but it was censored due to CERO's restrictions, removing the nudity and one evil quest option.
on the other end. Larian previously made a full collector's edition of the game with even more physical extras, but the game itself was only provided as a digital code regardless of platform.

with this finally resolved, there's still a few other notable digital-only games that will hopefully get physical releases soon. like Alan Wake II.

Assuming it's the same file size as PS5, this game would take 1,703 N64 carts! (And that's with the largest cart size!)

I think they've just been independent for so long that they're just handling everything themselves, plus buying directly from them will net them more $$$ for their next project(s) like porting this to Switch 2 in a few years
