News Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath (boomer shooter spin-off of Hypnospace Outlaw) is coming to PS4/PS5/Switch on May 14th

this might genuinely be the most fitting game to ever be a semi-Xbox exclusive thanks to Game Pass, i'm sure No More Robots (the publisher funding Zane_Rocks_14's work.) got paid well. but just the idea of a game created by an (fictional) edgy teenager on a console line that heavily leaned on "extreme" design langauge in it's early days is astounding.

the actual game itself utterly nails the aesthetic of a late 90s FPS as well, it's rather noticably taking inspiration from Build Engine games with it's heavy use of pre-rendered graphics and "mature" dialogue. then again, Hypnospace was good at recreating the early internet.

beyond the Twitter link, the man himself also has a Steam account and frequently posts on the game's discussion boards. truly a legendary game developer who should be mentioned alongside icons like Shigeru Miyamoto and the Elden Ring guy.

My partner is a big fan of Hypnospace Outlaw, and of Zane themselves, and I'm unsure if she even knows this is coming out. It does feel like absolutely on-brand for the game's universe, though.

Well, it had to come to the babby console (and the big boy PlayStation systems) eventually.
but if you really wanted your handheld fix, the game was already fully compatible with the Steam Deck and other such devices.
