UPDATE - GIVEAWAY
To encourage participation, I am giving away a $25 eShop gift card to 1 random participant who plays my level during the event. To be entered in the giveaway, there is a separate form to fill out, down below.
What is this?
Star Fox Guard, the Wii U exclusive RTS Star Fox spinoff sold with Star Fox Zero, has an in-game achievement system (labeled "symbols"), many of which are reliant on the game's multiplayer mode. While many of these can be spoofed by brute force using another account, one achievement, "Popular Strategist", requires raising your "Heat Index", a measure of how many people have played your levels recently, to maximum.
Thus, in an effort to help as many people as possible complete this achievement, I've decided to coordinate a "Star Fox Guard Multiplayer Week", that encourages people to share their levels and to play as many levels of others as they are willing to, in a concentrated period of time.
How will this work?
If you would like people to play any of your levels, you must submit your in-game name (to reduce bad actors) and 1+ level code(s) in this form (also down below). Note that due to Star Fox Guard's upload decay system, if you've not played in over a month (which would be the greater majority of people), you will have to upload your level(s) again.
When the event starts, I will post the google sheet with all the relevant information, and players are encouraged to play levels from as many different people as they can; on reddit, this will be in a new post, on message boards I will bump the thread with new information in the OP. In order to be fair to all participants, I will randomize the spreadsheet at least daily (more during the first day, if there's a significant amount of activity). It's generally recommended that, time permitting, you play earlier in the week than later.
What if I don't care to submit any levels?
You are more than welcome, and even encouraged, to still play levels other people have submitted. Note that you must have beaten the first world in the game to unlock multiplayer.
I'm a player who's new/returning to the game, where do I insert level codes?
From the main menu, World Rivals -> Search by ID
What boards are participating?
I am initially posting this on Resetera, Famiboards, r/wiiu, and r/starfox. If suggestions for additional forums to post this arise, I will expand this further.
Will late submissions be accepted?
Absolutely, but your level(s) will less likely to be played. Despite having an end date, I won't actually be taking anything down at that time: it's just heavily encouraged that people play in a condensed time frame, plus it reduces the chances of running into disappointment if Nintendo pulls the plug a week early.
What's up with the slots for additional levels?
If a submitter wants more than one level to get players, they're recommended to use these slots. I've limited it to 4 more to make things simple. Note that while player participation is optional, playing more than one level per user is exponentially more so, so do not expect people to play more than one.
Can I load the level and then immediately exit out if I want to help but am short on time?
No. While the game detracts points on your end, it does not count as a play for the submitter.
What if I need to report something, or have another question?
Post in this thread or DM me. Note that I'm not equally active on every platform.
