News Nintendo Switch 2 - First Look Trailer (READ OP)

For everyone complaining about Mario Kart looking the same, just wait until the Nintendo direct before we judge this , though i am bummed there will be no live presentation

In 2017 there were 50 days between the Switch blowout and the release. 50 days from Apr. 2 is May 22. I think we're looking at a late May/June release still.

Which website has BC details??

You know what's funny? The framing of "an update from Nintendo".

Seems like maybe they intended to announce the webpage ahead of time but didn't maybe.

I do hope Joycons come in different colors since it was pretty addictive and fun to collect them.
I want them to get better at it even! Give me some retro translucent ones, give me an option to make my own color kits (that is not regionally limited), give me space themed or nature themed, go crazy Nintendo, make it as customizable as a 2000s phone

I just remembered I'll get to line up at the store for the doors to open again to pick it up and be around everyone else as excited as I am, oh how I've missed that feeling

Imagine this on the Switch 2. A nice moment to showcase what the console can di

People in here saying that the April Direct is so far away. I'm here still thinking about how the release of Xenoblade X in March is so far away.

Wonder if there’s any chance Mario kart 9 is cross platform with switch 1

They would be ignoring 150 million people if its switch 2 only launch game
They're counting on most of those people getting a Switch 2 too, eventually. We know that Mario Kart can sell for years and years.

The reveal was so low energy it felt like Nintendo was saying "We know it leaked, we know you peaked. So here it is, now leave us alone about it".

The D Pad of the NES
The XY buttons of the SNES
The control stick of the N64
The portability of the Gameboy
The design of the Gameboy Advance
Trying to be technically ambitious like the Gamecube
The Touchscreen of the DS
The Motion Controls of the Wii
The iterative numbered sequel, like the 3DS
The size of the Wii U Gamepad
The Software and Form Factor of the Switch

It all really comes together to make one definitive Nintendo experience

Would have been much less of a concern had it not looked exactly like Switch 1 game.
Understandable. Still, it is a tease, some things can still change/be polished. Even so, I don't think just because NS2 is more powerful, every game will choose the major graphical revamp route

that post is getting like a fraction of a fraction of the engagement that the actual announcement is getting. the nintendo japan announcement tweet is already at 13 million views (shitty inflated twitter views but still)
Alright, sure, maybe not a ton of interactions, maybe I'm exaggerating. But I feel like when even a lot of people here are openly stating they thought it looked like 8, it probably REALLY looks like 8 to the average consumer. Heck, I'm checking out some video reactions right now and seeing it as well. Could be a bad look for them. But the thing is, even with a stumble like this, this is still a Nintendo handheld. People are buying it. Just, maybe didn't nail the reveal like it could have.

Anyone notice how big the tracks look, honestly it even looks open world. This could be a snapshot of maybe a 24 player only track. Since it's so, so huge. Look how small the racers are on the track. It's literally got like 4 actual normal sized lanes. My actual guess is that there's an open world story mode sorta thing and this is what we're looking at.

@Concernt this is what I meant as the release button. The strap release button.
Probably the strap release button or similar. It's possible that maybe the straps use the standard release button and this little oval actually pops OUT and that's why it looks like that. Either way, attachment system of the strap, absolutely certain..

I get that they want something that can easily be shared, but the compression on the trailer is kind of rough and arguably actually runs counter to sharing as the image quality deteriorates.

I'm glad they chose a nice peachy or amber shade for the orange instead of some of the "harder" oranges seen in leaks and mock-ups. It's a better compliment to the black. Pretty slick looking device. Curious how other colour schemes will be handled with the highlights design template.
