Piranha Plant
Welcome to the second iteration of Alternate History.

Last time. The Power Glove was successful as a peripheral and Fire Emblem was changed to an 80s gang game called “Gangs Turf Wars”

Our competition called Service Games or Sega is now trying to threaten our market share on the video game market.

We also have a company called Rare under our wings ready to make a new game under the Donkey Kong franchise. Hopefully it becomes a big hit like our other franchises.

What franchises should we focus on that isn’t Mario and Zelda. Should we try something new to entice gamers with?

Current year is 1989 and the Super Nintendo is about to hit the market.

Ken Kutaragi now works for us, so make sure he goes over the Super Nintendo designs once more. Maybe there's something we're missing.

Given the success of Gangs Turf Wars, we should make sure "Super Gangs Turf Wars" is ready close to launch. Combined with Mario and Zelda, that would be a killer launch lineup.

An enhanced version of the Power Glove might also be a good idea. I've heard rumors some engineers are working on setting up their own company to create this kind of device, Virtual Technologies or something. We should keep track of them.

The start of the Blue Blur: Year 1990
Ken Kutaragi is hard at work on a disc based add on for the Super Nintendo. It should be ready in two years.

We have decided to keep Gangs Turf Wars and make a sequel with more gangs and combat options.

We are keeping tabs on an upstarting company that wants to make motion control technology like we have dabbled in with the Power Glove.

Our rival Sega has established a new mascot called Sonic the Hedgehog who boasts faster speeds than Mario.

Anything else we should do to prepare ourselves for our rivalry with Sega?

Perhaps a character focused on speed and being hip like sonic could work? Maybe with a pre-existing Mario character like Luigi or Donkey Kong

We should release some sort of sci-fi racing game with some compelling characters we could market as faster than Sonic. Going off how well Gangs Turf Wars worked out, we should go with something with a similar aesthetic we could work into a speed-oriented game.

Showing off the spectacular mode-7 capabilities of the Super Nintendo, I suggest a game in the Gangs Turf Wars universe, starring a bounty hunter called Captain Falcon, that chases criminals on foot, at high speed, thanks to his enhanced leg prosthetics. If we could get some sort of racing multiplayer in, that would also be amazing.

Enter Bounty Hunter Captain Falcon Year 1991
We have decided to release a game called F-Zero that stars a bounty hunter called Captain Falcon that boosts speed unlike seen anywhere else. The game shows off the Mode 7 capabilities of the Super Nintendo.

Pitting Captain Falcon against Sonic has done wonders and drew more interest in the Gang Turf Wars universe.

Squaresoft has stated they plan on making a time traveling game for the SNES CD add on called Secret of Mana.

Rare is also hard at work bringing Donkey Kong into the next gaming generation.

Our motion control technology will have to wait as the hardware just isn’t present at the moment.

Ken Kutaragi states that the SNES CD add on will be able to host games otherwise unseen from the gaming public.

Edit: Sega is also trying to make their own CD add on. We better have some good games at launch to combat their new add on.
