Fun Club Mario Castle Calamity 2.5 HD Remake

Not gonna lie, when I saw the video length...I was kinda hoping it would be a 2.5 + 2.6 double feature.

Still, I appreciate how much they managed to capture a more cartoonish feel in the remake.

This has the same problem as the other recent Castle Calamities have for me in that some of the jokes go on too long.

It's a cool remake otherwise and really gets that cartoon spirit.

Didn't the guy behind SMBZ turn out to be an absolutely massive chud? I'm sure I remember something about it.
There has been a lot of drama with Mark, to the point where it was hard to keep up with it.

From what I know/remember, he has struggled a lot with depression for a long time, which led him to have many episodes where he would spew vitriol at bunch of different things (often himself).

If I'm not mistaken, a few years ago he admitted and apologized for his wrongdoings to the people he hurt (I don't remember if they forgave him).
What I do remember is that he made the very good decision of deleting his Twitter account for good (sometimes around the release of the second episode for the reboot), as it was a blight to his mental health.

If something else happened since then, I am not aware of it.

Yes, he rebooted the story I don't know why.
While Mark was the undeniable best at sprite animation during the original run, over the years many other people caught up. He wanted the reboot to be up to the new standards. Beyond that there were many things he wanted to change with the story, so he had to start all over.

Reading this I had a quick gander at his YT and there are some community posts which suggest he isn't in a good way right now. I don't feel like digging into the weeds of it but that appears to be how things are at the moment.
