Lots of new things in the Top 10 this week. We probably won't be seeing them next week in the Top 10 except maybe FIFA.

Hardware:
Nintendo Switch family (includes OLED, Lite and OG) 70,385 (this week), 3,443,997 (YTD)
Switch OLED 47,042 (this week), 1,953,410 (YTD)
PS5 (all varieties) 18,076 (this week), 749,944 (YTD)
Xbox Series 13,064 (this week), 234,833 (YTD)

Decent hardware numbers for the week. Switch Lite either has a supply issue or it's not selling that hot (just 2,549 for this week).

Not sure about Valkyrie Elysium. It's not great but maybe not too bad. I still hope S-E will consider a VP: Hrist next.

For the investment in marketing of Kuro 1 vs 2 (which had a bigger mark camp) I wonder if selling a couple hundred more at launch met their expectations.

I am glad the FIFA Legacy edition dies this year. And for whatever is next for EA, just dont release the game on switch if its a botch game.

Yikes for Kuro II; Kuro I was below expectations and had a similar launch week iirc.

I love Valkyrie Profile, but after the gut punch of VP2, and with the time that's passed, exploring a whole new story and continuity is the better option. I'm not sure that any studio, including tri-Ace, would make a Hrist game that satisfies anyone.

Kuro was a sequel with a II slapped right in the title; if anything all of the marketing seems to have paid off. I don't know if people expected different numbers but I don't see how they could be any better.

I'm afraid you're right. It kinda hurts as a fan of the series you know.

I bet you they just remove licenses and reskin it again.

Definitely. I know that pain well. At the very least, I'll always have VP1, and while Elysium isn't a great game, I've enjoyed it for what it is so far. A AA-budget action RPG with similar themes in its story.

So I think Elysium at least deserves to stand on its own, and while I haven't beaten it yet, it's doing enough with what it has that I can respect what the devs went for.

Bamco late port and Bayo 1 (nice) charted. If Kirby holds that 3k it should get to 925k by late year, needs that push for 1M

i hope DQX offline continues to sell well.
The biggest problem is the game being undershipped. It seems to be successful on the eshop. It is so weird, of all IP, SE undershipped DQ, their biggest IP in Japan

The FIFA Legacy Edition games are about the closest thing in gaming to zero-effort ports. Nevertheless, they appear on charts in Japan and Europe.

From EA's perspective, I don't see the value of spending the tiniest bit of extra effort to make their game work on the Switch/successor when they've managed to stretch 6 years of game releases out of one port. It'd be different if revenue from FUT was dropping and they needed to expand, but the Switch games are basically free money.
