[Weekly sales of software and hardware] “Spider-Man 2”, which is also doing well with the PS5 bundled version, takes the top spot! “Another Code Recollection” also entered the top 10 [1/15-1/21]​

Sales ranking announced by Famitsu. This time we bring you a summary of estimated weekly game software and hardware sales from January 15th to January 21st, 2024.

" Marvel's Spiderman 2 ", released on October 20, 2023, took the top spot. This title has become a hot topic with cumulative worldwide sales exceeding 2.5 million units within 24 hours of its release and a limited edition bundled version with the PlayStation 5 console was also released on December 20, 2023.

This data includes this bundled version, and this week the PlayStation 5 console also recorded strong sales of 57,903 units for the two models.

The second place went to " Momotaro Dentetsu World ", with " Super Mario Bros. Wonder '' coming in at 3rd place by a close margin but what you should pay attention to is " Another Code Recollection: Two Memories / Door of Memory '' which will be appearing for the first time.

This is a remake of the adventure game released for Nintendo DS and Wii, which combines them into one and introduces many new elements. It is ranked 4th in sales with 15,741 units sold and is one that will make you curious about its future sales.

Something something sales, something something doomed.

Though looking at 2024 resembling 2018 for Switch, and if that bore out all year (which you know, it almost certainly won't), lifetime sales curve for Switch would look neat on a graph.

15k is fine for a niche visual novel /puzzle style game remaster.

Great ace attorney 1+2 only opened to 14,460 on switch as well.

Seems like it sold through the majority of its print according to install-base (60-80%), unless I'm misinterpreting that. Just like Famicom Detective Club.

I assume Nintendo had reasonable expectations

That will probably come when the new hardware rolls out assuming there’s a 1-2 year transition period for software

Another Code lower than the DS original (48K FW -> 105K LTD), higher than Wii sequel (10K FW -> 33K LTD).

It would start appearing in the upcoming one in Feb since it encompasses the last nine months since May usually is their end of the FY into the new one.
If the game did a mil between release & any of these briefings then we’ll most likely see it in the software section for Nintendo when that is updated.

it'll appear on the upcoming one

the game did fine. it's still a jrpg and a remake. it falling off was within expectations
 
Another Code didn't do as well as I hoped it would, but 15K still seems okay considering the genre. Did better on opening week than the other two adventure games Nintendo published this gen, at least.
