[Weekly sales of software and hardware] “Super Mario Wonder” takes first place for the 8th time in total! “Momotaru Dentetsu World” and “Spider-Man 2” continue to have strong sales [1/8-1/14]

Sales ranking announced by Famitsu. This time, we bring you a summary of estimated weekly game software and hardware sales from January 8th to January 14th, 2024.

In this week's rankings, the titles that were in the top 10 last week have changed their positions and remain as they are. "Super Mario Bros. Wonder" returned to number one , marking its eighth time in total.

A close second place went to “Momotaro Dentetsu World". In December 2023, the previous work “Momotaru Dentetsu: Showa, Heisei, Reiwa" sold over 4 million copies and this work can be expected to have similar long-term sales.

Next in third place is "Marvel's Spider Man 2", which is steadily increasing in sales .
These sales include the "bundled version with the PlayStation 5 console" that was released in limited quantities on December 20, 2023, and this week the PS5 console also recorded strong sales of 36,506 units.

At Heart, the Nintendo Switch is also selling well, with cumulative domestic sales likely to reach 32 million units by the end of January.

welp, these threads are going to be considerably more boring from here on out. can’t wait for switch 2!

DQM dropping out of top 10 though 🤨

3DS still strong I see
I have no idea why they are still reporting it's sales, in the past Famitsu would stop reporting a platform's sales when they started dipping below 100 per week. Nintendo's final 3DS shipments were in September 2020 so these 3ds' have been in stores for over 3 years.

Maybe they don’t meet up demand to the level of not having enough copies to sell physically and this happened?

are you talking abt DQM? yah, they definitely did not have enough physical stock, so i’ve read. i’m surprised they haven’t gotten more stock out there though by now, but i’m sure SE is fine with people resorting to buying it digital anyway.
