originally revealed at Gamescom 2013 as a PS3 exclusive....
three months before the PS4 launched.

the concept was that you could easily access the series library of user-created levels (and the first worlds of the original 2 games) for free, with the microtransactions allowing you to buy the full campaigns for said original games as well as slots to publish your own levels. (all previously released DLC would have also been backwards compatible.)

unsurprisingly. while the concept could have worked out decently. Sony evidently realized leaving it on the PS3 alone would have been disastrous. so the application was eventually retooled into a full featured third game, which launched on both the PS4 and the PS3. the example assets created for it's one original level were also released in the form of the "Seaside Surprise Creator Kit".

a ton of gaming sites have been covering the "release" (the description mentions it was recorded in 2013) of a gameplay video for it. but there's little mention of the fact said build (dated December 10th 2013) was dumped shortly afterwards.
