News after months of rumors and speculation, The Chinese Room has officially confirmed they have taken over Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

originally announced as being developed by Hardsuit Labs back in 2019, various project hangups (including the depature of key staffers that worked on the original game.) caused them to get tossed off the game.

the general consenus at the time from various leaks and rumors was that Chinese Room (developer of Dear Esther and Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs) had been hired to continue development. which is now officially confirmed.

word is that some of the graphical assets and level layouts from the Hardsuit Labs version will be reused, but the storyline is drastically different. (the protagonist is now an "elder" vampire suddenly awoken from a lengthy slumber instead a newly turned "thinblood". for one.)

Who knows if it'll be any good at this point but this already looks better visually than what Hardsuit Labs put out. The character models are noticeably better.
