NSO Jet Force Gemini releasing on NSO November 30th (JP) / December (US)

Also GoldenEye, since they missed out on it in January.

It's weird that there's no international announcement yet, but i'll update the thread if/when that happens.

Guess we will know in about 50 minutes if it’s coming to the western shops.

Although shouldn’t it be 5 PST now?

I can't believe it, i really can't! This is the only game i wanted on the N64 nso!

How are the controls going to be?
Terrible like all single analog 3D shooters, but will still be great to have. Can only imagine how terrible it will be without an N64 controller or the retrobrawlers NSO controller that gets read like an N64 controller and has the c button layout.

They actually updated the controls on xbox one to be less dog poo, hopefully they bring over some of those modernizations to this version

I wish but I think these are going to be bog standard controls. Goldeneye didn’t get the new scheme and it was released on Xbox via rare replay around the same time. That version did. For better or worse, Nintendo wants these as faithful in that department as possible.

So help me if this is JP exclusive. It probably isn’t, but the fact they announced this only for Japan makes me fear

Oh, nice. I’ve had this Jet Force Gemini cartridge sitting around for well over a decade. I’ve been meaning to actually sit down and play it so instead of doing that, (hopefully) I’ll play it on Nintendo Switch Online and save scum through the more difficult areas. 💁‍♀️

The controls will be awful, no doubt. They were awful on the N64 and they’ll be awful here.

That doesn’t mean it’s not a cool game though!

The haters can stay seething, this game rules.

I don't get the control complaints? Iirc, it was something like, you'd have regular third person movement, but a shoulder button would change to Goldeneye Solitaire controls? What's wrong with that?
And for that matter, what's the practical difference between Goldeneye Solitaire and dual analogue, really. I never understood the complaints.

For all those people over reacting that this would be Japan only

Yep JFG seals it that we get most of the Rare catalog. I don't care for this particular game but I'm excited if that means Nintendo starts diving into more Rare games soon for N64.

Never played this one, so I'm looking forward to giving it a shot

but more importantly, I do think if they're getting a more "B-list" Rare game like this and not just sticking to the big names like Banjo and Goldeneye, then I'd say all of Rare's catalog is probably on the table; so bring on Perfect Dark and Blast Corps

I see the thread title, but do we know that it's coming in the US December 1st? I didn't see that in the announcement post. Is it normal that the Japan date is the day before the US date and that's where 12/1 is coming from?

I think it's a fairly safe educated guess. Releases are generally simultaneous worldwide, so based on when NSO updates tend to go live, a Nov 30th release for Japan means a Dec 1st release for the US (because time zones)

I do agree it's a little odd that the NoA tweet doesn't specify the date though

The Metroid game on N64 that we never got.

Underrated gem. The controls are a handful but it's still a banger of a game in terms of design, game play, and presentation. Well, until you get forced to do the Tribal fetch quest. So glad this is making its way to NSO since it's one of the games I wanted ever since Banjo was confirmed to be happening.

This is amazing, another Rare title! One step closer to Diddy Kong Racing :)

I've only played JFG once, and that was a demo kiosk at a Toys R Us. I'm definitely going to check it out next weekend. I'm overdue checking out some N64 NSO games like Winback and Sin and Punishment.

I wonder when 1080 is given it’s supposed to release this year. Also nice to see things are alive and well, look forward to a new roadmap with DK64, DKR and Smash
I've never heard about this game at all, I'll definitely try it
Whaaa. It’s great and unique

Neat. Always wanted to try this one.

(But seriously, where is Golden Sun? At this point they might as well announce the remakes first).

Oh shit. Wasn't expecting another Rare game. Hopefully 1080 Snowboarding will be a xmas release.

Please let 2024 be the year of Konami n64 games.

Not the Rare game I was expecting, but I guess it does a good job of saying that any of them are on the table.

Now the real question is, since Nintendo likes leaving these unaltered, will we get Skerries in Blast Corps?

Err, wait, shouldn't it be the other way around? Japan is ahead of the US. For example, it's November 22nd in Japan right now but in the US it's still the 21st.
