That sucks but. Okay. I have the other ones I need to finish. Doing a replay of Pikmin 4 with the wife.It doesn't have split-screen, but it does have 2p local wireless and 2p online.
We really need those larger capacity carts at a good price.
7 years in and we have gone backwards with 8 GB cards being the preferred option when initially many 3rd parties went for 16 GB as soon as they could.
Did Nintendo raise cart prices?
Fractured Byte is just what Doctre81 discovered 3 years ago. He really doesn't miss (except killer7 for Switch ).
Seems the port is handled by Fractured Byte, not Turn Me Up Games, 62gb install required too
Does your PS4 copy come with all the DLC? Switch compression is usually pretty great but there’s only so much they can shrink.Out of curiosity, checked my PS4 copy of BL3 and it had a minimum install of 55GB. The main difference is that PS4s at that time came with at least 1TB storage...Nintendo has gotta put more internal storage in the Switch 2.
Card prices seem lower, but I think the difference is going from "Yes, we can fit everything on 16" to "We can't fit everything on 16, so if we're forcing a download anyway why go as high as 16?".We really need those larger capacity carts at a good price.

I actually do have the PS5 ultimate edition so I’ll check it when I get home.Nope, this is the day one release on PS4 so it doesn't include any of the season one DLC on disc. They require separate downloads.
I did reinstall the PS4 version on the PS5 (I don't have a PS4 anymore) and one thing that is interesting is that the base game is actually 63.17GB when installed. So the Switch version is either not quite as compressed despite the lower quality textures or the download automatically includes ALL the DLC.
Of course there’s that too. I’m interested to see if the next system gets an upgraded version like they did with PS5 and Xbox. It’s more that the assets are downgraded mixed with a tiny bit of compression to get the size down
I was under the impression that the 64GB cart doesn’t actually exist yetHow much does a 64gig or 2 32gig carts cost anyway?
Do they really make more money off giving up and forcing a download than they lose in sales?
As a consumer, I'd pay the difference to get a real physical version of a game instead of a digital code pretending to be.
What happens in 10 years when the switch eshop goes offline and half these nintendo switch carts turn into garbage overnight.
PS5 install size with all DLC is 90GB. Guess that SSD really does some work.So after my BL3 installations I can confirm these storage amounts:
PS4 base game = 63.12GB
PS4 base game with all DLC installed = 125.9
so the 62GB may end up being all of the base game and DLC content installed on the Switch. So obviously this isn't going to be 1:1 but I hope that helps some!

Yes, exactly. I'm thinking the box is stating the total size you need to download and install, which is usually double the size of the game. We'll find out in the next hours. In the eshop it indicated if I remember correctly, a different size, around 11GB extra dowload patch for the base game and about 25 for the dlc.
Updates:
So, as i understand, you only need to dowload the dlcs?
Due to the number of games that are coming out these months, Borderlands 3 I plan to get it later.Looks to be the case. It's very good they made it to where you can install any of the six DLCs separately to better manage the storage.
Ideally having them all on cartridge would be the best, but that's just not in the cards.

If any of you get it physically now, please notify us about how downloading the dlcs works.
I can see 2K advertising an HD texture pack for Drake promotion. since the game is already unlocked, they don't have to do much more45 fps? That's some miracle work. And the sacrifices don't seem to be a lot. And on top of that they reduced the size to just 8.5GB (2GB less than Borderlands 1 on Switch). If they did that by lowering the texture resolution, I'd like an optional high texture pack as I own a big SD card for my Switch. Higher textures of BL1 on Switch felt so great.
Unlocked fps might indicate an next gen patch for the successor, they might bring this up to PC standards with some work. But I'm happy for this, a game that struggles on other platforms performing this well on a $200 handheld is truly amazing. Can't wait to start it tomorrow!

Borderlands is a normal single player franchise that you can play in co-op, as you can also see in the videos up there .seems to look and play pretty decently, and the compression work is really appreciated
now, dumb question: is there a single player off-line campaign, too?
what is it with publishers fucking up their box art to include disastrously bad and wrong info about download/install sizes (Bamco did this too recently with Baten Kaitos which says on the box it requires a separate download with a code which ... it simply does not. Like, it's literally completely false what they put on there).

They explain it in this post but they had to give a size when the carts were starting to be manufactured. At that time, it was apparently 62GB - In the time between manufacturing and release they have managed to reduce it down to 23.5GB.
costs time and effort that they don't want to pay. especially if boxes are already shipped and storedI saw that but what stops them from putting a sticker correction over it. It only hurts them by people noping out of a purchase.
if the base game is 8.5 gigs, they definitely didn't splurge for a 16gig cardI'm still worried there's a required day one patch to play.
If they didn't know the size of the game when they printed the box, what are the odds a final playable binary and compressed assets made it on to the cart?
I'm excited to play either way... but if this cart doesn't run in airplane mode out of the box, it's essentially worse than a digital code.
I'll likely sell or trade it in after a quick playthrough if that's the case.
I have read on a Spanish forum that with just the card and not downloading anything, at some point on the early missions the game will ask you to download the rest and won't let you progress to the next map.I'm still worried there's a required day one patch to play.

Not bad at all. Borderlands 3 is a very good game. The writing stops it from being great, but the gameplay is a treat. It just feels damn good to play. Enjoy it!Ordered this today from Amazon UK as it’s £29.99, not bad for the amount of content you get.
