Discussion Collaborations for Revitalizing Nintendo's Portfolio

Indeed, Astral Chain seems almost a certainty, and the partnership between Platinum and Nintendo appears strong; by all accounts, they work well together.
Presenting Platinum's F-Zero: Stylish Racing Action Game, with bonus brawler/bounty-hunting segments that can be unlocked.
Because I'm inclined to agree: You can make something separate with Captain Falcon, but it's not F-Zero if that's the only connection. F-Zero is the racing.
I'm not sure what Platinum's Stylish Racing Action Game would look like.
in a weird way, I feel like if there was an Astral Chain 2, Platinum wouldn't be making it. but I'm probably just overthinking the rights situation. Platinum probably just traded their half for W101. at the very least, Platinum should oversee it

While the series is now fully owned by Nintendo, I just can't picture an Astral Chain game without Platinum. I think any future Astral Chain game is going to be developed by them.

While a new Astral Chain wouldn't be required to be developed by Platinum, it seems likely. At Platinum, Taura has been considering ways in which the game could be expanded further, so there are already some ideas there, as well as interest in development. Nintendo values their partnership with Platinum enough that, while not necessarily guaranteed, I assume they would offer a first refusal to the team, though this could still lead to a situation where the team simply isn't able to at that time.

Nintendo could take the series elsewhere, to cultivate some other partnership, but probably don't want the inherent risks and drawbacks with such a decision.
