StarTopic Nintendo Switch Online |ST| Community Friends Codes Below OP

I’m gonna hold off now. I’m going to need to see a lot more stuff offered before I’m willing to make any sort of jump.
 
$20 for NES and SNES games was fine for me - so little money that I barely noticed, and every so often I'd boot them up for nostalgia and it would be worth it.

$50 a year for N64 and Genesis games? At that point you're into PS+ price territory, which offers you huge discounts, free games that are actually modern, and a far superior online gaming ecosystem.

Hard no.

Interesting that they might start bundling DLC into it, though. Not interested in the Animal Crossing DLC, but if you were to get 3 pieces of DLC per year that would otherwise cost $10-15 or so, then that could well be worth it as someone who plays almost all of Nintendo's first party games.

EDIT: Also, if you get the DLC through NSO, do you own it forever? Does the game kick you out of it if your sub lapses?

It's great that the Happy Home Paradise - DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is included in the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Membership!
 
That's about $20 more than I anticipated. I already wasn't interested so that's a pass without question.

The fine print says "Active NSO + Expansion Pack membership required to access DLC at no additional cost." I doubt they will let us keep it after one year.

I'm hoping they clarify that it's not only a second tier for everything.

I'm really really not interested in the DLC, and if i were i would pay it upfront. 35 € more for N64 and Mega Drive is SO not worth it for me...

I said in the other topic Nintendo has to talk more about the expansion so maybe they’ll announce more dlc part of it and more N64 games, though not everyone will be interested in games dlc. Like I don’t care about AC so that does nothing for me.

This is way more expensive than I thought it would be.
 
Yeah, no. Add animal crossing, pokemon, splatoon to cloud saves and add full first party libraries up to gba/gamecube generation and I'll pay that.
 
There must be other (cheaper) tiers excluding the AC expansion.
Also, they didn't clarify how much the upgrade will cost for current subscribers.

That is a sizable increase. More than double the original cost, right?

However, if Expansion DLC comes free with it, I'm slightly more intrigued. But still wow.

The $80 family is somewhat dooable. Our group of 6 makes it ~$13 a year.

Still a lot more than I though. Hopefully there is more stuff cooking with this expansion.
 
I hope we can opt out of the Animal Crossing DLC and get the expansion pack for cheaper. 50 bucks is a bit too steep.

$30 increase for N64 and Genesis is ludicrous. I will not be upgrading tiers unless they really pull through with some impressive announcements.

Ngl, that busts my upper expectation with a tank.

Otoh, the fact that it was revealed while announcing that Expansion Pack includes something else not previously mentioned possibly suggests that there is more to come, maybe. That's maybe why they didn't announce the price at the time.

But, right now, it is WAY expensive.

Absolutely ridiculous pricing. If the online service was actually good, this wouldn't even be that much of a problem.

Bumping this thread since the NSO app was redesigned and it’s much easier to see who is online and get your friend code. The forum also has a lot more users so thought some people might want to add their codes if they have been contributing regularly. Remember to use the hide functions when posting to limit to registered users.

@Josh5890 i don’t expect you to update your list, just thought it might be good to get the thread some more visibility.

Don’t play much online, but I‘m always there for a round in Mariokart 8 and sometimes Clubhouse Games or Tetris Effect.

Guessing this would be the place to talk about Tetris 99, so, uh…yeah, when do you think we’ll get another Maximus Cup? Rather, more specifically, I wonder when they’ll start repeating some older themes again, because they haven’t done that in awhile and I’m still missing the Miitopia theme (‘cause I was too busy playing Miitopia when it was live that I completely forgot about it >_>) and they don’t allow you to purchase the newer batch of themes with tickets yet…

It’s super annoying if you forget or are busy one weekend you miss out on a theme, don’t see why they can’t just make them all available for tickets.
I would say the next one is maybe for the forgotten land theme, most big games seem to get one.

Yeah, probably that, Nintendo Switch Sports, or they could even do a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe one with the Booster Course Pass coming out. Hopefully they start doing repeats again, too, though, or at least allow us to unlock the themes we missed with tickets! I hope they don’t just…not ever make them available again. ._.

I don't use the NSO Voice Chat App, but I do use Discord for text or voice chat, if that's ever desired.
