I'm worried that the thread title will eventually change to "I had a nightmare that Nintendo announced the N64 controller will never be on sale ever again"
and Nintendo will announce just that a week later.
 
I’m kicking myself over the prospect of spending a stupid amount to get a genesis 6 button controller.

And yeah. Literally dreamed about this topic. Seriously brain?
 
I've managed to adapt to the clunky controls of OOT without this controller now, so I suppose I'm ok.

Do find it wild when I go off to play GTA5 as I'm forever trying to mash ZL to make the camera spin around, also expecting my character to jump grab ledges... and in GTA they just kind of launch themselves into the edge and bounce off to the floor with an oof.

Oh no! I'm not! I changed bank account, forgot to update my card and I lapsed like 4 days ago and now I don't have enough to renew! What a life!

The first time it was available I didn't buy it cause my nso had expired and was waiting for the expansion pass before I subbed again. When that happened it was too late :(

I'm going to have to park it. With the baby and cost of living absolutely spanking us. I can't really justify throwing out the cash on a family sub (sorry kids, no online play for a bit too) and then a controller. How annoying.

Finally got mine, it's on its way home now!!!

Nothing better than the real thing to play N64 games. Looking forward to finally feeling comfortable playing the NSO games.
 
Fuck, the german store has it as well. I don‘t have money on my pre paid credit card atm… i pinged a friend, if he can order me one. I get my salary next monday and pay him a „premium“ price back. 😎

Thanks, i am still waiting but he will be home soon.

I received an E-Mail that the controller is in stock this morning at 10 o'clock.
The controller is now for over 8 hours available.
Looks like Nintendo finally manufactured enough controllers to meet the demand.

Managed to snag one this morning. I can now finally play N64 NSO without mental finger gymnastics.

Now it's physical finger gymnastics.
 
Can't believe the bastards are finally in stock on the EU site, they haven't been available since when... The day it came out?
 
Gone again. Since I missed the September restock I was waiting forever. Bought 4 for that nostalgic Mario Kart/Party event. Don’t know where to hide them yet 🥳 I have already too many controllers.

It's a shame Nintendo can't provide a bigger stock of these. The N64 experience on Switch is damn near perfect as long as you're using one of these controllers. I'd say it's pretty much a requirement for games like Goldeneye 007.

I basically channelled Howl and started emitting a sad green goop and flopped around the floor instead.

But in the real world, I should probably re-sub. I may get a basic sub (no N64 & GBA for now) as I have about £10 in gold. Need a family sub as my poor boy cannot play Splatoon 3!

It shouldn't be a surprise given how they nailed the mini consoles' controllers (this is my first NSO con) but i still got positively surprised by the final result. It's almost a perfect replica, only feeling a little lighter thanks to the absence of any module in the back of the controller aside of the rumble motor.

Stick has a good tension to it and works amazingly. I gave some N64 games a quick run and and they all worked like a charm. Also a surprisingly good controller for GBA.

I thought i'd be bothered by the positioning of the additional buttons, but i certainly value not having them in the front.

I think i'm going to give this a whole lot of play time.
