This direct was so good that I dont mind no BOTW2 news lol. So the big blowout for that will be E3 then. With Xenoblade this September I guess that has me more hopeful for BOTW2 being released this holiday
So, good direct eh? Definitely one of my favorites.
I meant new announcements but yes, No Man's Sky is on my radar for sure. I was already sold on Kirby so I didn't really need another trailer but it was fun. Other than that none of those games interest me either because I've played them before or I just am not interested.
Gonna have to swear to a bunch of gods or something because I have zero interest.you will play klonoa i swear to god
Gonna have to swear to a bunch of gods or something because I have zero interest.
Because you've taken such an interest I will look into them more than I planned to. Can't promise anything though.if it helps, they're both simultaneously the best games of all-time.

Just curious: you don’t like any multiplayer-focused games? That isn’t even a genre, it’s like half the industry lol.Eh if you're not a fan of JRPGs or multiplayer games there was virtually nothing.
Well, this aged like cheese! Should have stick with my initial guess about earthbound and earthbound beginnings. Here's my one specific prediction, headline style:
More Rare games are headed to Nintendo Switch Online!
(trickled out over the next few months)
N64: GoldenEye, Diddy Kong Racing, and Donkey Kong 64
SNES: Killer Instinct
NES: Slalom, RC Pro-Am, and Snake Rattle & Roll
Banjo-Tooie, Killer Instinct Gold, and Perfect Dark come later. Plus some more NES games. Probably Battletoads too.
Yeah, I feel like all three of those are gonna feel the same...why would you do a Wii Sports with six games and three of them are tennis, badminton, and volleyball
They just need to show mp4 and more about Botw2. Shoes filled for most of the people.Holy shit on a sandwich that Direct was nuts
For me this one will go down in history as one of the best of the Switch era. E3 has some big shoes to fill.
- Mario Strikers: Battle League. This announcement had me absolutely losing my mind. I never thought we’d see this series again, let alone this soon and with all the flair of its predecessors, and including best girl Rosalina to boot
- Splatoon 3. The return of Salmon Run is a welcome inclusion, featuring Beeg Salmonid. No release date still is a bit disappointing, but it looks like it’ll be launching relatively close to my birthday
- Kirby and the Forgotten Land is looking better and better. A new game mechanic reminiscent of Odyssey’s capture, and the return of my boy Dedede
- Switch Sports was another wild left-field announcement, and the gameplay with Takahashi and Koizumi was cool. I need that jersey yesterday
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Pass. A whole game’s worth of courses from a cross the series’s history and the first wave launches in a month. March is going to be good. It looks like Tour-level graphics which is a bit disappointing, but at least it’s free with the Expansion Pass, which is definitely worth it now, if it wasn’t already. Hopefully this holds me over until Mario Kart 9 another half decade from now
Never in a million years would I have expected "3D remake of Front Mission 1st", "HD-2D remake of Live A Live", and "later this year" to be uttered within minutes of each other.I swear Square Enix kicked it into overdrive my god
I don't really have anyone to play most games with and I hate playing online with random people.Just curious: you don’t like any multiplayer-focused games? That isn’t even a genre, it’s like half the industry lol.
This is what I figured as wellMy current guess is that Nintendo will get the remaining N64 NSO games out of the way by June (the Custom Robos will prolly get released alongside Mario Golf/F-Zero X/Kirby 64/Pokemon Snap when they drop on the service), and E3 is where they'll announce the next slate, and that's probably where we'll see more Rare games.
An e3 with both Metroid Prime and BOTW would be bonkers. They just need to show mp4 and more about Botw2. Shoes filled for most of the people.
Fair enough.I don't really have anyone to play most games with and I hate playing online with random people.
Yeah, even now, I still don't think most of us realize just how popular the Switch is with the mainstream. I'm 100% convinced the successor isn't launching until the end of 2023 or early 2024. And that's perfectly fine. Interest in the current Switch is as high as it's ever been (real talk: it's still more popular than XBS and PS5), Nintendo has a killer lineup coming, and the console is easily going to sell 135+ million units in the end.NA Direct shot to #1 Trending in Gaming on YouTube with 2.4M views already. It's crazy...
I was also expecting Goldeneye fosho, and had hyped myself into anticipating Fire Emblem mainline or Echoes.Overall: 7/10. Good but still had questionable stuff.
It coming with the expansion pack is great!Mario Kart news was exactly what I hoped for (and free with the expansion pass!)
The Zelda theme is a song in Taiko no TatsujinI don’t remember anything Zelda, am I forgetting something already lol?
True! January/February directs aren’t packed like this oneI was also expecting Goldeneye fosho, and had hyped myself into anticipating Fire Emblem mainline or Echoes.
But that said, if I'm keeping perspective and timing in mind ... This would be a "solid" June Direct and a "good" Fall Direct.
This is a Bonkers Feb Direct.
If you like 2.5D platformers at all, the first game is great and the second one is truly top tier.Gonna have to swear to a bunch of gods or something because I have zero interest.
Even that feels way too early now that we have MK8 DLC coming throughout 2023.Yeah, even now, I still don't think most of us realize just how popular the Switch is with the mainstream. If (when) the Switch 2 is BC, I don't think it really matters all that much. I'd bet more on early 2024 than late 2023, though.Even that feels way too early now that we have MK8 DLC coming throughout 2023.
Agreed but where is that Koizumi gif of him flying up and out of the frame while wearing a red jersey after appearing in the video just to mime-play volleyball with Takahashi immediately after we just witnessed Live A Live of all games rising from the grave into HD-2D gloriousness???Other than those two playing volleyball, the pacing was perfect.
Man, play these games. If you like 2D platformers, both Klonoa titles are top-tier. Like, among the best ever made.Gonna have to swear to a bunch of gods or something because I have zero interest.
They’re just trying to port everything to Switch before Sony buys them and shuts that all down.I swear Square Enix kicked it into overdrive my god
The DLC is pretty much Mario Kart 9. A deal is a deal. Details coming tomorrow. If Mario Kart 9 gets announced tomorrow I will gift a 20 dollar e-shop gift card to someone in this thread. Bookmark this post.
I agree with this with what they’ve shown so far, but I really think they are also holding back one new mode / idea they haven’t shown that’ll be really cool. I’m very happy Salmon Run was back for example and they showed some neat additions, but it wasn’t a radical reinvention. I also expect that mode to be super fun when we actually play it and the difficulty / speed ramps up to the obscene levels in Splatoon 2.Is it bad to say that the game that (I'm interested in to begin with) that I'm the least excited about there is Splatoon 3?
It just looks pretty much identical to the two prior games, with relatively minor elements thrown in on top. That was clear from prior trailers but the 'New Wave' for Salmon Run kind of cemented it for me. I'm sure the singleplayer will be good, and I'll probably still get it, but it feels like an iterative CoD sequel (e.g. Modern Warfare 3) but with the expectations of a much longer wait behind it.
Maybe I was expecting too much but that initial trailer promised, at the very least, a much different aesthetic. Salmon Run 2 doesn't even really seem to have that.

I think Nintendo is using the DLC as a kinda stopgap. Adding additional content that way there isn’t as much pressure for the next one to release.I don't think Mario Kart DLC plans necessarily mean no Switch successor whatsoever until later, it could also point that Nintendo is confident that the next device will be backwards compatible and that a new Mario Kart won't necessarily be ready until after the DLC is through. It makes more sense to me that Nintendo would wanna shift towards the iPhone-style upgrades to help keep the strong brand name and keep users in their ecosystem.
Who da hell wants to do that!?I really should do something else, like play a video game. IDK
Right down to the strap and nearby objects checkI liked the little throwback Wii-era gameplay demo they did for Switch Sports
