To start, a new Neptunia Shmup got revealed. It's technically a game series. But it may as well count.

It's not even the first Neptunia Shmup!

The dungeon anime with that girl who had a blue ribbon? It's got a shmup.


Konosuba? Of course! (It even has 3D glasses support.)


Little Witch Academia? That could work. The Cotton series is about a witch shooting things on her broom, so it would be easy to turn into a shm-

Of course, this isn't even getting into the completely original IPs that are Anime-inspired, such as Touhou.
What could be next? Yotsuba&!? Lucky Star? Maybe even Star Wars? 🤨

It's a genre that lets you make a solid game for a decently low budget, and there's a history of magical girl/witch shoot em ups from the 90's and 00's like the cotton series and touhou project.
