Discussion The Positive News thread

curl-6

Chain Chomp
With a lot of the news being very negative and distressing lately, I thought it'd be nice to have space to share positive stories for a change.
It may not seem like it, but there is still so much good happening in the world. Some recent ones:

- A woman from Argentina may be the third person ever to have beaten HIV:
- World's most premature baby beats 1% survival odds: https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/wor...y-defies-sub-1-survival-odds-to-break-record/

- Once biologically dead, London's River Thames has seen a miraculous recovery:
- Protein discovered that suppresses the growth of prostate cancer:
- Mexico bans cosmetic testing on animals: https://www.hsi.org/news-media/mexi...erica-to-outlaw-animal-testing-for-cosmetics/

- Electronic implant could restore basic vision for millions of blind people:
Feel free to add more; this thread can hopefully be a place we can come to get a dose of positivity when we need it in these challenging times. :)

We probably could use more of these threads, seriously.

I've basically stopped engaging with any news sources at all because they absolutely only report on the worst of the worst. Is soul crushing, especially in these times.

Loads of our rivers here in the UK are getting better, we have otters all over the place and even had some beavers show up outside of the designated beaver trial places.

It's great to see, a lot of it is because of trying more natural ways to reduce flooding which in turn makes the farm lands more natural.
