previously from the game's developer GYAAR Studio...
when we last saw the team, they had created a series of small free titles that were all launched on Steam. including one with horrifying flowers that have human faces on them.

sadly these were all region locked. a problem which wlill further become relevant as we get to the news they dropped at the last Nintendo Direct.

their debut title is finally getting turned into a free to play game under the name "Survival Quiz CITY Omatsuri-Hen", alongside a natural Switch port (you aren't going to reveal a PC-only title at a direct)
this is a perfect fit for the game, as i've previously noted. while the concept was quite fun and entertaining in short bursts (particularly in a public setting like a convention) it's not really something you could directly sell to consumers.
however, this new version only supports Japanese text. a pretty big issue considering the whole "quiz" aspect. the original paid version did support English text, but staying on there isn't an option. as the servers are shutting down on October 31st.
We regret to inform you that we have decided to terminate the current service of "Survival Quiz CITY" at the end of October 2023.

The full version of "Survival Quiz CITY" and the free trial version of "Survival Quiz CITY Visitor's Pass" will be suspended soon.
Therefore, new purchases/downloads will no longer be available.
Existing players will be able to continue playing until the end of the service.

<Expected date of service termination: 10/31/2023>

The service will be terminated upon server close.
We would like to thank all the players who have played and supported "Survival Quiz CITY".
it doesn't seem like there was an active English audience (i was pretty much the only western person promoting it) but it's still unfortunate to see it go.
