Yes, after some initial tests in the form of various lua scripts for Bizhawk. A full fledged patching tool to create randomized roms is now available.

What truly puts it into absurd territory is it's ability to randomize the game's loading zones, even decoupling them. Meaning that attempting to backtrack will still throw you in a random new area.

Here's some examples.

Thought this first run would be easy? of course not! Just walking into DK's treehouse has taken me to one of the most difficult challenges in the game.

After fleeing to DK Isles, we find that attempting to go back merely warps us to another section of DK isles.
The only areas that aren't random warps here are the stores, Toff n Scoff rooms, and the Hideout Helm Entrance/Level.

There are many, many other things that can be randomized using this tool as well. But this is the most entertaining one.
A selection of various other QOL options and sanity checks (Unlocking all Kongs and moves from the start, skipping repetitive cutscenes.) are also included. But some of these can be disabled if you really want to go wild.

Version 2 has been released

it's back.

there's a ton of changes, too many to fit in a single post. but some of the notable ones include completely random items (meaning golden bananas can be replaced with other items and vice versa.) Bananaports being able to warp you to random levels, a timed mode, accessibility options such as a colorblind mode, and alternate win conditions (including an especially unique one requiring you to take photos of every enemy in the game)
