Retro the classic 1984 VN "Hokkaido Serial Murders" is getting a remake on Switch/PC (written by Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii)

buried in the Japanese version of the Direct, it's being developed by G-MODE.
they actually got Yuji back to write an "additional scenario" for this, surprisingly.

this is pretty much a spiritual successor to the historically significant title "The Portopia Serial Murder Case", with Yuji Horii also making a third detective game "軽井沢誘拐案内" in 1985. forming a sort of trilogy.

no word on an english localization yet. but it really should happen, especially considering how badly Square messed up the intended localization of Portopia.
 
Oh that‘s really neat. I’ve heard the story oh how Horii got started with a detective adventure game so many times. If this did end up getting localized as a lost relic reborn like Famicom Detective Club that would be amazing.
