I think games just give you a lot of tools nowadays to not need dedicated guides. I’m playing through Metroid Dread right now and decided to go for 100% before doing the final boss. Not once did I have to search for clues on what items I’m missing thanks to both the completion status, the map flashing mechanics, and the hidden block upgrade. Which is a great thing for streamlining the player experience, and I personally prefer it that way.
