Hardware [LunaValoäa] iQue: Nintendo's Mysterious Chinese History

a genuinely great video about a fairly obscure branch of nintendo.

i also have my own personal list of extra little details not mentioned in the video, but you might been interested in hearing.
  • one of those ique gba protos dumped by FoI is actually an original collection of famicom games, presumably they realized releasing the games piecemeal like they did elsewhere wasn't going to work.
  • on the gigaleak, a good chunk of the content there (mainly the n64 stuff) seems like it was originally compiled for ique. with a lot of the file dates matching up with the development of the ique player.
  • related to that, there's a pair of folders suggesting they were intending to localize nba courtside 2 into a game featuring chinese basketball association players. though all that really remains in terms of the planned changes was a pair of text documents describing their progress. if i remember correctly.
  • prototypes of other ique projects exist in the gigaleak as well, mainly things with minor changes. but there's also a build of super mario advance with full debug menus.
  • it's not directly mentioned in the video. but the netcard assets are yet another thing that originate from the gigaleak. not only that, but there's a lot more to it than what's shown. enough to create mockups for various versions of the menu.
i think i've linked to this more than enough times already, but if you'd like to hear about some other notable things found in the gigaleak. there's always the general gigaleak thread to check out.

Very nice video. Learnt a few interesting factoids from that :)

Most of the Gigaleak came from iQue didn't it?
