News Huge sales of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom could be what upheld Japan’s GDP increase

Yeah the article is not really well explained since the zelda part, is just an especulation from someone in the cabinet saying "hey , japanese games sold a lot , obviusly this helped right?" but in perspective it really did nothing since private consumption still went down by 0.5%

One non-essential good from one company in an advanced economy that populated by multiple multinational corporations is not going to move the needle of an entire country's GDP. GDP is an aggregate of all such factors, and that includes the aggregate of Nintendo's overall output (i.e. everything else + Zelda) too.
