Discussion Hades 2 Early Access, check threadmark!

I know I'm not good enough to get past the second zone so I'm not worried about going through too much of the game before final release

Also I'll be double dipping on Switch 2 anyway

:')
First 3 biomes are fairly complete - or at least it appears. 4th biome has some rougher edges. I haven't gotten past that. Last night I couldn't get past 3rd. I still suck at making builds and what I had last night just wasn't cutting it.

EDIT: I got so close tonight. Apollo's cast almost got me there. Or maybe just close to 2nd phase if they're a two life bar boss.

This game is so good

I have defeated the second boss twice, and both times I died to the Phantom in the next area. Also, speaking of the second boss, can we talk about how hard the music goes in that fight (and the whole lead-up tbh), holy shit

I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with builds, you can do some serious damage very quickly with the right combinations.

Gotten two clears after basically no-lifing this game since launch. Tons of fun but I'm probably ready to move on until the next update. Very much looking forward to that though!

Overall the game's a ton of fun but I can definitely see the potential for improvements over Early Access. I'm mainly looking forward to new gods and potential improvements to the Torch weapon, which is a fun idea conceptually but feels pretty bad to play

I made it down to the 4th area and I think I'm ready to take a break for another update. It's shaping up to be a great sequel.

Same. No-lifed it, beat the last bosses a few times, and got almost every upgrade and stuff.

It's definitely a bigger game than original. Now to wait for more.

For those who've cleared a run (@VintoWin and @NabiscoFelt), how much extra stuff have you done? I've reached the final boss a few times, but I keep getting distracted by the surface and the Chaos trials, so I'm not progressing that quickly lol

Beat Chronos about 36 runs in, which was after my first surface clear. Did a couple Chaos trials too but not all of them. I'd also unlocked most of the aspects at that point

Alright, finally managed to clear a run (I think it was my 33rd or 34th). Still haven't cleared the surface yet, though.

Has anyone else tried the new patch? They've tweaked a few things - most notably the sprint speed - but I actually feel like it's more buggy than before, not less. When I press left of the D-pad to see my boons, I can no longer use either my D-pad or control stick to navigate around the boon and Arcana lists, I have to use my mouse. And at one point my framerate dropped to a crawl seemingly out of nowhere (which made me lose a run to Scylla of all enemies, super embarrassing lol) and didn't get better until I fully restarted the game.

As for my thoughts on the game: obviously it's fantastic. There's for sure some balancing to be done, and I think the latter two areas could have a few tweaks to make them a bit more interesting. I also feel like the Cerberus boss fight could use a few tweaks as I don't find it that challenging - I beat it my first attempt and have only died to it once, which feels wrong after how long it took me to consistently beat Scylla, and the corresponding Hades fight (Theseus and Asterius) is also one I found much more difficult. But I'm very happy with the game overall and excited to see where they take the gameplay and, particularly, the story.[/SPOILER]
