Yeah, I'm well aware that even in an hard to picture scenario in which their partnership isn't renewed the IP is still Square Enix's. It's just that the OT fanatic in me can't help but be uneasy.

Team Asano is still at Square Enix. This shouldn't affect a future Octopath Traveler much if at all.

This is like if Platinum Games was acquired by a conglomerate -- it wouldn't significantly impact the next Nier.

Is GungHo offloading its studios? If that's the case, Nintendo really should go for Game Arts. Such a talented RPG studio.

Also Acquire needs to go back to samurai games. It's been a while since we last got one. Fund them Kadokawa, we need Way of the Samurai 5!
