Oh, wow, Story of Seasons topping the chart! Makes my heart warm to see it.

Now add gay marriage in the japanese game, there are gay people in japan too, you know.

Hopefully that check from Sony was worth it, because giving them exclusive marketing rights in Japan actively hurt this release.

It is steadily dropping for few weeks now, dropped from 80k from early January to 50k in February. Nintendo might wanna launch a revision to prevent the system hitting peak earlier than anticipated.

this late in the console's life, price cuts won't halt a decline, it may dull the decline for a year. They need a new SKU that get people to double dip or a brand new console to reverse the trend. Both options are unlikely this early in the year but could be something they announce for H2 of FY 2024 (ending March 2024) so sometime between September and March next year.

If production increase is true (worth reminding it's not confirmed, however reputable the source may be), it's most likely in service of the latter two options.

PS5 is the top selling hardware for the week and still the software sales aren’t reflecting the increase in hardware supply.

Story of Seasons remake is on top. That’s why we got the farming sim Direct, folks.

Really sad for Disgaea 7. Apparently it’s better than 6 but releasing the week after FE Engage did not do it any favors.
 
I'm sure western sales will pick up the slack for Disgaea 7. It's a shame though because I've read so much that Disgaea 7 is far better game than D6.
 
Switch sales are OK, but the YoY drop has to be a concern for Nintendo if supply isn't the issue.

But hey that's not necessarily a bad thing, if hardware sales start a notable decline this year but are still healthy, it tells Nintendo gently that a new system is needed shortly.

Like you said, rumors. And if indeed they plan on sustaining sales, you are right that they could drop the price. Price drops late in the system's life are what allowed the PS2 to become the most sold console of all times. I'm not buying an OLED specifically because I suspect that a price drop could happen very soon.

It really is the beginning of the end for them. Not saying they're doomed, but the decline is going to become increasingly evident in the coming weeks, and no major title until May isn't doing them any favors.

Yeah, I’ve been thinking that if the production increase rumor is true it’s probably for Switch 2.

Disgaea 6 was an awful game with abysmal performance on Switch (probably the worst ever performance in a 60$ game until SV) so I can't imagine many were happy to go day one on a sequel.

Forspoken flop. Story of Seasons doing worse than FOMT? Maybe another case of POOT being bad causing the next release to drop.

Think they did. Been playing the Japanese version and don't think it used any term besides "married."

Oh, that's awesome! I always felt bad for the japanese players, it must feel even worse when they've aknowledged the existence of queer people on other regions but they make a point to erase your identity in your own country.
