Really good stock week all around. PS5 on its way to another million this year.

I was really hoping Kirby would get to a million. Is that unrealistic at this point?

Kirby will get to a million eventually. Heck, Kirby Star Allies might even get to a million retail in Japan. The next million seller will probably either be Mario Party Superstars or Clubhouse Games.

Kirby should have pretty long legs, I expect it will get there even if it drops off the chart for a while.

With digital it already is a million seller and retail wise it has sold 240k+ more than Kirby Star Allies launch aligned, KSA has sold 980k units and will end up this year with 1M. 1M lifetime is already a safe thing, what it will probably not be able to do is become the best selling Kirby in retail (1.6M).

Kirby is probably already a million seller with digital. Japan also still has the voucher program for NSO subscribers so ratio for digital is pretty strong.
Being cheaper on the eshop, I also guess Switch Sports is much higher with digital.
Sunbreak is not too hot but then again, who knows the whole picture without digital ? When I play online 90% of the other players are Japanese lol.

Charts without digital are going to be more and more irrelevant.

I wouldn’t say charts without digital are going to become more irrelevant. They are still important to a degree otherwise we get what we see with NPD which is not really useful at all.

Yes, irrelevant was maybe a bit too strong.
They definitely don’t create the full picture but unlike other places that only really report physical we can reference the White Book to see how the splits are for the fiscal year. And, other useful digital information they put in there.

Sunbreak is an expansion, and considering the physical release is a set(Comes with the main game), most of the Sunbreak sales will most likely come from digital.
This is true. Still I somehow expected way higher, it's Monster Hunter after all.

Those Xbox numbers though. MS must feel good.

I don't see how that doesn't make this a low debut when Iceborne Master Edition performed a lot better even at retail. I'm sure it did well but it's probably a decline from Iceborne, even in Japan where Nintendo systems are so dominate.

There's less incentive to get this new SKU compared to Iceborne. The cart only contains vanilla Rise(pre-patches) with a download code for Sunbreak.

It's also more expensive than World+Iceborne was.

Honestly what were they thinking with this package. It’s like they decided to give it almost every handicap imaginable.

I want to buy/play this but when it goes on sale. I’ve heard good things about it but Idk $60 for kirby (personally) doesn't feel right to me. Perhaps it is worth it but previous Kirby games wont allow me to make that full $60 purchase again unfortunately.

Probably simply that it would need a 32GB card if they tried to bundle both.

The price is just that they've been keeping a higher RRP for Rise than they did for World. The budget rerelease was also more expensive.

Is just Rise budget pricing+Sunbreak in the cheapest way possible to have retail presence outside of DL cards.

Sounds about right from just hearing about it. Shame though. Hopefully they can keep a long tail with better post game support then initial Rise.

i was actually waiting for sunbreak to release so that i could get it and rise physical then i found it was just a download code lol. so i just got rise physical for a cheaper price

Those Sunbreak numbers are 😬
Eh, not really, all things considered.
Sunbreak is first and foremost DLC, and the physical version is just a download code, it's not actually on the cart.
We know from Capcom that the expansion hit 2 million in its first 5 days. The vast majority just opted for digital.

The physical version of Sunbreak/Rise is very unattractive and expensive. Other than die hard physical fans and people that plan to sell it later most player will go with the digital version, even in Japan physical sales are a dying breed.

With Capcoms latest PR of Sunbreak it seems the expansion sold 2m faster than the last MH expansion (Iceborne) worldwide.
