I wonder if Pikmin 4 has a valid chance at hitting 1m physical sales in Japan alone. That is one hell of a performance.
It will do that easily, it’s not only an evergreen title but it’s going to get a big holiday boost at the end of the year. 1mil physical is the floor.

Those new release sales seem terrible, but maybe I’m just expecting them to perform better than the month old unbeatable Pikmin.
In the case of Bomberman it needed to either be a complete step up from the original &/or ~2yrs earlier. Not showing a content roadmap + ending the F2P portion before launch, doesn’t help either.

I'm honestly surprised if anything Bomberman sold 11k units, but then again the first one was sort of a big release in Japan. With digital + multiplat, wouldn't be surprised if it sold about 30k or a little more.

Then again the state of third party releases in Japan is absolutely depressing, but that's to be expected and well known about at this point.

It's kinda surprising how unpopular the Switch Lite is. Not even 15% of the sales total for Switch. People really don't like the portable only/non-TV version of the console even if it's cheap. The OLED model has already outsold it despite the Lite having 2 more years to sell in Japan.

The ones that get marketed enough get the bigger sales. The reason why EPD games sell so well compared to non-EPD and third part releases is they literally have the biggest marketing push in the whole country. In the whole world even.

It's because:
1- Nintendo pushes the OLED much harder than Lite
2- People love bigger screens. New 3DS XL beat smaller one 2 to 1 in Japan despite the small one had swappable faceplates.

Really disappointed in how Bomberman doesn't seem to be doing too well anywhere. I think the poor marketing (I don't think it ever had as major a showing as it did when it was announced in a Direct last year) and heavy asset reuse (there seems to be very few new playable characters not in the first game or Online, for example) hurt it, plus coming out in a really packed time of year.

My expectations for Baten Kaitos were rock bottom, so while it didn’t too great in physical sales here, it has been charting higher digitally in some regions than I expected it to. I’ll take that as a win, I guess.

You gotta ask yourself. Do you like the idea of the switch lite.

I’d say it’s probably a lock at this point. It’s performing like an evergreen and we haven’t even gotten to it’s first holiday period yet.
