in case the fact they retweeted it isn't obvious enough, the Crazy Viking Studios site flat out states their next project is a collab with Digital Eclipse.

while DE has done original games before, i'm inclined to believe it's more likely a "modern remake" included in the next Gold Master series title.
as for what game they could possibly be re-releasing, "Barbarian: The Ultimate Warrior" (initially released as "Death Sword" in the US) seems like the most natural fit for this dev.

years before Mortal Kombat shocked Congress with it's gore, this was pretty much the ur-example of a graphic fighting game. while it's sole moment was merely your opponent getting decapitated at the end of a round, it was still brutal enough to be placed on Germany's infamous BPjS index for restricted works.

the rights trail isn't particularly complicated either, the original developer Palace Software was sold to Titus Software back in 1991, who in-turn swallowed up Interplay later on.
a smartphone remake of Barbarian was previously released in 2012 with Interplay's approval, and the company technically still exists today, being involved with the recent re-releases of the Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance games.
this also wouldn't be the first time Crazy Viking got involved with older hardware, as Volgarr previously received a Dreamcast port in 2015.

it's a sequel to Volgarr The Viking New

More than a decade after Volgarr the Viking‘s bloodbath of a debut from Crazy Viking Studios, which sold more than one million copies across PC and consoles, the barbarian king’s adventure continues in an uncompromising new form. Set against the backdrop of new and bigger-than-ever Norse-inspired worlds, Volgarr the Viking II ups the ante on the original’s hardcore 2D side-scrolling action in an expanded odyssey where every playthrough is grislier than the last.
so not a re-release of anything unfortunately, though it should turn out quite good regardless.
