"Roberts may have tipped his hand last year when he briefly explored a deal involving video game company Electronic Arts Inc., home of popular titles like Madden NFL and Star Wars. Comcast followers suspect he would still like to add that kind of highly lucrative content to his empire, possibly in deals with companies like Nintendo Co., Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. or even Activision Blizzard Inc."

Well, duh. Mario Movie just made 1.2b. They want more of that. Maybe even more than just movies, they can have animated series on peacock based on Nintendo properties! I want a WarioWare animated show from who made Archer. Mona. MONA! Danger Zone!

EA could happen (I’m still of the opinion Microsoft will get Activision in the end). Nintendo will probably just increase their partnerships with them through Universal.

Nintendo isn’t getting acquired. They’re already insulated from hostile takeovers as most of the stock is either tied up with other Japanese companies, private families, and the company itself (see any thread involving Saudi Arabia increasing their investment stake). They’d have to be willing to sell, and given they’re in a much stronger place today then when they laughed Microsoft out of the room for their proposal in the late 90s, and that Nintendo’s value is in their IP, they would have to sell FAR above their current market cap.

This article means very little. It's analysts discussing the possibility of Comcast and its CEO maybe attempting to acquire another company in the wake of losing Hulu soon. There were brief talks with EA a year ago, and some are suspecting Nintendo as a possibility because the two companies currently have a good working relationship, but there's nothing substantial suggesting that Nintendo is looking to be acquired by Comcast or Comcast directly going after Nintendo. The two companies will maintain their relationship for films and theme parks, Chris Meledandri will keep his seat on the Nintendo board of directors because the higher ups enjoyed working together and have shared mindsets, and that's about it.
