so this is a bit of a unusual cross-promotion that flew under the radar back in the day. The Jay Leno Show had a bizarre segment during the late 90s-early 2000s where he would get sucked into a computer, using the finest CGI the era had to offer.
A virtual Jay Leno will make his appearance on the Tonight Show Tuesday evening.

Pulse Entertainment Inc., a Web-animation company here, and USWeb Inc., based in Santa Clara, Calif., created a 3-D animated version of the talk-show host, which will air as part of a sequence on Tuesday night's show and thereafter be available for viewing on the NBC.com Web site.

In the animation, Mr. Leno gets sucked into a computer while cooking a burrito in a microwave oven. In cyberspace, the animated Mr. Leno tries to find his way back into the real world and takes a tour of Web sites such as the "Dan Quayle for President" site.

someone at Midway thought it would be absolutely hilarious if they promoted a game on it, and so this absurd moment was created of him getting his ass kicked by Afro Thunder. one of the many characters playable in Ready 2 Rumble Boxing.

the segment (outside of a few audio clips that were mistakenly left in the final game) was lost to time for many years, until someone got in contact with one of the lead programmers. who happened to have a copy of it stored on VHS.
ensuring that utterly bizarre piece of advertising will be preserved for generations to come.
(also Michael Buffer himself tweeted about the find, shockingly enough.)
