Discussion What's the biggest gaping hole left in Switch's library?

The way they claimed "Donkey Kong Country Returns", made one subsequent game then stopped made it feel like such a lie. If Country truly made a return it would've at least been another trilogy!

They have to give Star Fox another chance at least once a generation no matter how bad the last one went. They all got off the ground regardless of the track record, so no reason to stop trying now.

I get why people say DK, but his ties to the Mario brand through spin-offs make me feel that although we haven’t gotten a new game, I don’t feel his absence really.

It’s probably Star Fox tbh. I could bemoan 2D Zelda and DKC, but at least those overall IP are somewhat present.

That title HAS to be intentional.

So Nintendo REALLY needs an Action RPG. It's one of the biggest genres out there.

In terms of franchises with no (non-NSO retro console) Switch release whatsoever, it’s Kid Icarus, Rhythm Heaven, and Star Fox. Uprising sold enough that it’s honestly shocking no followup happened.

More sparse franchises like Picross 3D, Pushmo, and Sin & Punishment aren’t there, but that’s more the norm than not. I suppose it’s a bit odd that Dr. Mario and Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon haven’t gotten anything either.

Nintendo’s first party puzzle franchises have sort of been MIA on Switch. Hopefully that’s something they rectify next gen.
