My predictions are:

  • Metroid Prime Remaster is finally shown to the masses with a graphically stunning trailer. Hitting in Summer 2023.
  • Some sort of substantial NSO update (Super Mario RPG?)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Big Boi trailer. Maybe they announce a Zelda Direct, maybe they don't, but at the least we're gonna finally have some meat on the bone.
  • I think if Prime is shown, we might be left waiting for F-Zero GX, but those two GCN titles could easily swap out this Direct. I think we see one of them regardless.
  • 2D Mario or DK would send this direct over the top, so we can only hope!
  • I think Pikmin 4 is a no-show, as is Baten Kaitos.

Pretty boring/expected predictions, but I think this will be a very good, but unsurprising direct, so I guess the logic checks out!

  • Metroid Prime HD (announced by a Retro Studios member wearing a wig to make fun of Jeff Grubb) – out in July.
  • A 2 min trailer for Tears of the Kingdom followed by Aonuma announcing a Zelda Direct next week.
  • Xenoblade 3 expansion pack Wave 3 shows up briefly.
  • Advance Wars 1+2 only shows up in the sizzle reel.
  • Mario Baseball, made by Bamco, is here to redeem the Switch Mario Sports games. It’ll be glorious and out in June.
  • Dragon Quest III HD-2D finally has a release date
  • The Directs ends with the first ever trailer for Metroid Prime 4. It’s coming in 2024.

  • No Silksong ever.
  • Literal puff piece about Kirby. Mercifully short.
  • Pikmin 4 trailer and release date. I will yell at my screen if this does not happen.
  • Mario movie trailer followed by...
  • Super Mario 3D All-Stars DELUXE: Not a limited time release and includes Super Mario Galaxy 2. Owners of the first game can pay a nominal fee to upgrade their copy.
If I get Pikmin 4 in some way, shape, or form, this will be the second best Direct ever.

This is cool! My predictions are:

Zelda, Bayonetta Origins, Kirby, and Advance Wars are definitely there. No Pikmin 4.

Mario Kart Wave 4 is teased with Waluigi Stadium and the new Yoshi’s Island track. Also teases new characters! Xenoblade Wave 3 DLC is detailed, Wave 4 gets a poster and a release month.

We’ll see both Metroid Prime Remake and Metroid Prime 4 as either the second to last or final segments.

New Mario Platformer announced and one more spinoff game. Donkey Kong announced.

New HAL eshop game. (Box Boy 5?)

F-Zero GX HD is there, Kid Icarus is not.
