News Another Crab's Treasure, an underwater soulslike, coming to PC and consoles on April 25th (out now!)

Lol I spent the whole game thinking "what the heck are those things....." I finished with the entire skill tree unlocked and I think I was level 57 so I guess it didn't matter?

on top of the minor areas missed, it probably would've changed your upgrade priorities away from the skill tree. i had about two branches maxed when i discovered Adaptation Upgrades, now all my gems have been going towards that cause that shit is so good.

no fucking way dude

not only did this shit lead to an entire new section and full unique boss i aint seen anywhere else, it naturally fused into the next area i was supposed to go in through the complete opposite direction.

i was in the Expired Grove, i never even ended up taking the Sands Between path you're supposed to, yet somehow ended up all the way in a moonshell of Flotsam from this one cube.

that is some raw genius dark souls level connection. i absolutely love it.

I'm curious, did you happen to:

Run into that boss that's this cage filled with all sorts of sea creatures? I'd just been exploring the Grove trying to get on those "treehouses", then ended up in Flotsam Vale, face to face with that monstrosity. Thankfully it was relatively easy to beat once you understand its eccentric moveset.

exactly that! if you pop off the hill of that boss arena you end up in the proper Flotsam swamp. i hadn't even seen the area before, totally blew me away.

the new Adaptation you get from it is like immediately super useful too. im combining with the health drain accessory for chonky free damage healing

I kicked the ass of an ultra-capitalistic wharf roach and all I got was bundles of useless paper

Anyway, well, this is a Souls-like set in the ocean. We were always gonna end up in the abyss. The Unfathom is suitably dark and spooky, infested with albino crablets and gulper eels. Loving every second of it. Okay maybe not the drama. It's not bad, but it's a tad too cheesy for my tastes.

You thought you had me, Another Crab's Treasure, but I've played my fair share of kaizo hair-pullers. I can spot a fake save point from a mile away. Up your gills, Petroch.

And now apparently there's another beneath the abyssal floor. Huh, okaaaay. This looks like the final final area. Let's see if I can finish it up tonight.

I was 100% taken in by that part and was a bit awestruck by what followed. That game started out so light and finished with so much more depth than I imagined.

I see what you did there lol

(Late game spoilers) Especially when you dive Down The Drain. Kinda weird to think there's an abyss below the abyss lol. While I did like the Old Ocean, it kinda felt like typical Souls stuff. I wish the trash island had been expanded on instead.
