NSO Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA (Europe) and Pokken Tournament DX (NA) free trials available for NSO subscribers from 8/18

...Huh. That's the 2nd time Pokken's been the trial in NA. I should know, the game finally went on sale for the first time ever in NA when it happened and I bought it then!

Are they running out of games or something...?
 
Unlike last time, I WILL download it and see if I remember any Sceptile moves from my brief time with the Wii U version.

Plus I want those platinum points.

Ys VIII being on free trial is pretty surprising, especially considering that the Switch version is the best selling one. They really want to push the series further.
 
Can I beat Ys VIII in 7 days??

Also it sucks it's the European version because my main account (the one that has NSO subscription) has eShop credits so I can't change the region. Gonna have to use the free 7 days of NSO on the other account lol.
 
It's a pity i won't be able to enjoy Ys VIII's free trial...

...because i already own the game :D it's pretty fun but still in my backlog, gotta try and finish it

I wouldn't be mad if they were running out of games so they can put Damon X Machina on free trial again so I can finally play that game.

Also there's plenty of hidden gems that can come like the No More Heroes games, any of the Nintendo Musous, Bayonetta, etc.

Thanks!! I'm already downloading it!! Will play it a lot and try to finish the story.

I used one of my accounts and changed it to Portugal to download the game. Anybody knows if I can use the American profile that has the NSO subscription to open it or will I have to use the 7 day free trial of another profile with European region?

Falcom is doing stuff like Nayuta on switch and while their more power-focused games will definitely stick to PS4/5 for as long as they can, I don't think they'll be able to ignore Switch completely and hopefully they'll at least work to do more day and date ports of stuff, or original experiences for the system. Can't say I blame them for how Ys V really, really soured them on Nintendo, even though the game is excellent and I'd love a remake.

Still mixed on the Ys 8 Switch port as it's smack dab in the middle of them quality wise. You have the original Vita version that's ambitious but runs like shit, the Switch version which runs at an OK 30 and better than vita, but includes the PS4 content and difficulty mode that definitely does not feel optimized for the lower framerate, the PS4 version which is 4K60FPS, and the PC version which added co-op and got a massive rehaul after being the absolute worse version originally.

Really if you don't mind avoiding Inferno Difficulty then the game is still fine enough and a must play either way
