Your top 3 Switch games in order?

Intoxicate

The best is yet to come...
1. Horace
2. Metroid Dread
3. Luigi Mansion 3

Could you elaborate on Horace a bit? I bought it during a sale seeing the metacritics score, but then felt like I was trapped in one of those cheap offer games. I stopped playing it after those neverending text series during the beginning. Does it change later?

1. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 + Torna the Golden Country. It's my favorite game of all time, not much more to add.
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I played it almost by chance and I never put it down't until I finished it.
3. Valkyria Chronicles 4. A strategy game take on anime WWII was a lot funnier and more emotional than I expected.

3: Xenoblade Chronicles 3: a game that made me dream discovering amazing worlds while listening to the most incredible music.

Please tell me if the gray haired girl with the name ending in -ia gets friendzoned in this one too

This is a rough question.

Right now it would be:

1. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
2. Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu
3. Xenoblade Chronicles 2

This could all easily be changed though.

1. BotW
2. Xenoblade Chronicles DE (sorry Dragon Quest!)
3. Mario Odyssey

Actually number 3 is more debatable: could be Metroid Dread, or DQ XI, or Pokémon Sword.

The game changes its gameplay while you progress. See it as a mini-game collection of sorts, but it's mostly a platformer.

What I loved about the game was its plot (can get VERY emotional) , voice acting and humor. It really spoke to me and by far it is one of my biggest surprises this generation. I bought the game because i liked the pixel-art graphics (I try to get as many pixel-art games as i can for all consoles) and it was dirty cheap. Imagine my surprise when I got a great and very touching experience out of it.

Give it a chance if you can.

Top three is damn hard! If we're talking only Switch exclusives, then I think I'd have to go with Breath of the Wild, Metroid Dread, and Super Mario Odyssey (probably in that order)

CrossCode would and Hollow Knight might make their way onto there if I include multiplatform games, played on Switch.

Not sure if it's exclusives only, but the best three games I've played on the machine:
Wandersong
Breath of the Wild
A Short Hike

If we're doing exclusives only:
Breath of the Wild
New Pokemon Snap
Luigi's Mansion 3

Super Mario Odyssey

Monster Boy & The Cursed Kingdom
Dragon Quest XI S
The Ninja Warriors Once Again...
Crimzon Clover: World Ignition
Splatoon 2
Celeste
Crosscode
Streets of Rage 4
Cuphead

Not counting any games I already played on Wii U any years ago -- I'll go by what I played on Switch first even if it was a multiplatform release. Switch has been carried hard by smaller developers for me.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Super Mario Odyssey

Pretty stock I know. But I can't help it if Nintendo keep making great games.

sleepnaught

Rattata
Breath of the Wild
Super Smash Brothers Ultimate
Link's Awakening

Hinorable mentions go to
Super Mario 3D World
Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze
Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
Super Mario Party

And, of course, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, because it's my favorite console game of all time.

I really need to try XC2, so many people list that as one of their favorites on Switch. I was turned off by all performance related gripes early on and never got around to it, despite me owning it. That and I've never been an anime fan.

For all the games it would Breath Of The Wild - Bayonetta - MHGU/MHRise

For the exclusives it would be Smash Ultimate - Spla2n - Fire emblem 3 houses.

- IMO
1. Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Great cast of characters and story with hard hitting moments. The battle system is so complex, yet so simple to get into the flow of once you get rolling. A large expansive world, great music, and a lot of heart.

2. Octopath Traveler

Octopath is just underappreciated imo, the quest design has flaws, but it is so innovative to the genre. Combine that with some fun characters, great combat, music, and visuals.

3. Fire Emblem Three Houses

It has some faults in terms of the depth to the sim elements, but I love the turn to the calendar system in the vein of persona. It might get a little long in the tooth having multiple paths, but still has great characters and combat.

javac

Rattata
Breath of the Wild
Ring Fit Adventure
Splatoon 2

An immersive single player open world, filled with lush scenery that feels so real you swear that your memories of playing the game are real. I really climbed that mountain! Really!

The best jrpg of the decade, a game preoccupied with making its players actually better functioning human beings, a game in which its players actually improve and grow stronger the more they play. If Ring Fit was a person and you turned off your switch, went outside and exercised, it would look on like a proud parent, wiping away its tears, shouting "you flex those muscles!" And that beautiful, shiny sweat, hard work pays off.

The best multiplayer game, stylish and fun and where debates are settled with ink.

1. Animal Crossing New Horizons: Played every single day since relief. The game that got me through quarantine, it's been such a relaxing and comfy time that always improved my mood.

2. Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Absolutely phenomenal from every angle, a home run of a game.

3. Super Smash Bros Ultimate: Smash was maybe one of my first video games, and to still be playing it and the unquestionable definitive version at that, it just makes me so happy.

Honorable Mentions:
- Fire Emblem Three Houses: The first FE game I managed finished. I'm obsessed with the story and lore, greatly appreciate the new and improved mechanics like the hub world, having a small set of starting units, the flexibility of training everyone. Three Houses clicked with me, I was so excited from the first few trailers alone and I fell deep in love with it all.

- Ring Fit Adventure: The other game that saved my life through quarantine. It's actually a really hard workout but it's very fun and smart by trying in a full rpg, and I've consistently played 3 times a week for almost a year now.

- Dragon Quest 11: My very first Dragon Quest game and wow was I blown away. One of my first quarantine purchases and it was money well spent. I LOVE this cast and what an amazing story. And to have this classic gameplay and fight these classic enemies and realize there's so much depth and strategy to it all. Fantastic all around, it makes me very excited for what DQ12 could potentially hold.

- Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition: My first time getting to experience this game and what an experience it was. Definitely one of the best dubs I've ever heard, but all-around it's such a strong game and it's so amazing to see how the game almost never left Japan and now I'd consider it one of Nintendo's most important franchises currently.

- NEO The World Ends With You: My personal Game Of The Year. Brought me right back to 7th grade when I played the original. For how much I've said I loved the casts of the other rpgs I've listed, I don't think I felt so emotionally connected by one in a long time until Twewy. Nagi in particular permeated a part of my soul I didn't realize needed to her. Brilliant, not a single think I do not like about it, I will think about it for a long time afterwards.
