Protest the Hero, a prog-rock band that sings about historical events and figures. They did a pretty cool, critical song about Mt Rushmore and its legacy in regards to Native Americans.
Ooh, that's a blast from the past for me. Fortress is a killer album!
Man, I almost got to see them live! It was with Silverstein, Devil Wears Prada and A Day to Remember.Protest the Hero, a prog-rock band that sings about historical events and figures. They did a pretty cool, critical song about Mt Rushmore and its legacy in regards to Native Americans.
Pup is fun. I saw them in Louisville last year, they put on a good show.Like a band that I only recently discovered but like most of their material?
I think that would be Pup. I find it difficult lately to find something recently released, and then go back and like their older material
(Wage War, Electric Callboy, AVOID) doesn't mean I don't, Bad Omens I prefer their older stuff, but only found our about em last year.
Oh my god PtH is so good. I’m not a typical PtH fan that thinks everything after Fortress and Volition isn’t as good. In fact, Pacific Myth and Palimpsest are my favorite records by them. From the Sky is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. I’d love to see them live sometime.Protest the Hero, a prog-rock band that sings about historical events and figures. It's funny you say that, I only got into them recently and listened to a bunch of random songs from all the albums, enjoying most of them. Then I would see in the comments "they fell off" "the new records suck" and I would be so confusedThe last band that I really got into was Modest Mouse. Ever since Float On got big, I always had a sense that I could really like this band, and I knew I needed to just dive in. And once I did, I was hooked. MM is so incredibly amazing. I like their older stuff better than the new stuff, but I would say We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank is my favorite MM record.

I met them in line for The Beast at King’s Island when I was probably 12-13 years old. They were playing a show that evening at the park’s amphitheater. The last band that I really got into was Modest Mouse. Used to be a huge Modest Mouse fan in high school. Lonesome Crowded West and Moon and Antarctica are pretty perfect indie rock records. The last band that I really got into was Modest Mouse. I know Float On is their most iconic song (and it's great), but when I think Modest Mouse I think this. Instantly brings me back to early adolescence.
Freshman/sophmore for me I think. It was my older brother who was really into them, he was a senior while I was a freshman and he would play music like this from his iPod (remember those?) driving us to school. Then I got his hand-me-down iPod and listened to it a lot.To me this is the sound of senior year of high school.
John Frusciante, Shadows Collide with People has become my favourite album alongside Appetite for Destruction. I really like all of his albums but his 2004 output and 2009's The Empyrean are probably my favourites. To Record Only Water for Ten Days is great too.
I think Shadows Collide with People is a great album to start with if you want to give him a chance.
Such an amazing album. Prefer this style of the band over the Johnny Marr years and what’s seems to be that guitar sound even after his exit. I was also really into Built to Spill around this time, who might be my favorite indie rock band ever.To me this is the sound of senior year of high school.
the GOATholy smokes yes. Shadows is incredible. If you ask my favorite album, most days it’s Shadows Collide with People.
BRB, driving to eat a carvel cake.
Totally agree, did you listen to Ataxia , theProject with Josh Klinghoffer? Also great.John Frusciante, Shadows Collide with People has become my favourite album alongside Appetite for Destruction.
