I was originally gonna say Urban Champion but honesty it’s just boring, not terrible.

Ice Climber, however, is an abysmal turd.

Not to pick on you in particular, but I'm really hoping the "What's the worst...." threads are kept at a minimum here. Those type of threads have become really prominent on Era, especially in the past year. While it can be fun to talk about things we don't enjoy at times, I think people have become too obsessed with negativity and I think so many "Worst" topics helped deteriorate the discourse on Era. People just run in, complain about something, and then leave. They're don't bring about the most engaging or inciteful conversations. But that's just my opinion on these type of topics.

As for Federation Force, that's such an odd one because it's an absolutely terrible idea (online team-based FPS on the 3ds's tiny low-res screen in a series known for it's exploration, where fans were already upset) - but it's developed as beautifully as possible by Next Level games.

It's a terrible, terrible game (and yes I played it) but it's executed as best as it could have been, if that makes sense.

Worst first party game for me is probably something like Soccer on NES or a random NES game I don't remember.

From the modern era, the two that immediately jump to mind are Yoshi's Island DS and Yoshi's New Island. Those games are insulting even to the 5-6 year olds they are aimed at. They're pretty much a disgrace to the legacy of SMW2.

You can say games that you know are good but make you absolutely lose your shit in rage all the time?

IF yes, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Real answer for me should be Yoshi Story or even Yoshi Island DS. I consider the original the best videogame ever made and these games failed to make justice to YS.

Clearly not the worst but the one I enjoyed the least was Skyward Sword.
Had it on the Wii and it was so linear and restrictive.

But that's subjective.

Objective is probably something like the VirtualBoy Wario game.

That’s not objective and people have spoken more positive on the Wario game on VB.

Gonna be honest .... the worst Nintendo game I've ever played is Super Mario 64.

I MEAN, it is a good game somewhat. But I don't know how a game with so many bad levels, repetitive mission structures, and bad collisions with the environment can be so praised. Plus, whatever the fuck the controls for the Wing Cap are.

the murkiest scam
I mean, it's clearly not any of these popular beaten-to-death butts of jokes like Federation Force but some old, shoddy game from the pre-SNES days probably with some racism thrown in.

Damn you guys really don't like 3D mario on here huh?
I love 3D World. 3D Land is pretty good. Odyssey was a disappointment when it came out because of the way objectives are handled (yes I don't care if that complaint is a cliche), but I think I would appreciate it more after playing Mario 64, which imo just barely scrapes by as a good game. Haven't played enough Sunshine or Galaxy to judge them.

It's Urban Champion, surely?

Outside of the Mii games or anything of the sorts. I'm gonna go with this one. Just boring all around with a horrid soundtrack to boot.

Hyperbole aside I was really disappointed with this game. Good-Feel's other Nintendo collaborations were fantastic, but I really think they got the pacing wrong on Crafted World. What a shame.

Does this count? Got it for Christmas and admittedly was excited when I opened it because I was expecting something at least as interactive as Hey You PIkachu on N64, but damn.

Wii Music, 1-2 Switch at least I got several hours of playtime out of before I dropped. Pokemon Channel I think I effectively reached the end within two hours (one hour played Christmas Day, one hour played on Boxing Day)

I'll be honest, these threads are always the worst parts of any forum so I hope we don't make a habit out of them. It's always the one rife with trolling or folk upset people like a popular game

As for my personal opinion, out of all of the ones I've tried, I'd probably give it to some NES game, like old school Zelda or Metroid. They're before my time and their age clearly shows imo

Well it's a 25 year old game so later 3D platformers fixed where SM64 faltered and improved on what the game did. The game's acrobatic controls, open varied environments, and camera are why it's so beloved. I personally find it better than other 3D platformers from it's time but I can totally see someone today not liking it at all or preferring other platformers, especially if you prefer more linear ones, which seems to be the case for you

Of the ones I’ve played it’s sticker star.

The other nintendo disappointments like Skyward Sword or Other M I still had fun with, and can appreciate them more for what they did now that their series are back on track

But sticker star is not only sapped of literally any creativity compared to the first three games artistically and storywise, it’s also fucking terribly designed from a gameplay perspective. There are quite literally zero things in sticker star that you can look at and say “wow that’s an improvement!” except MAYBE the music. Every single aspect of the game is a downgrade or complete butchering.

And the series is STILL trapped by many aspects of it, although it’s gotten better

You have no idea how heartbreaking it was to excitedly buy Ice Climber for GBA after getting hyped about such an obscure character showing up in Smash Bros. Melee and then for the game to be... well what it is, bless it.

This is about the worst game Nintendo has ever made. You really think NES Zelda or Metroid fit that bill?

Actually likes NSO
But Federation Force was kind of fun.

I think a really bad one was:

Only bought it because I got it for 5 bucks...

I got it for the amiibo. Still sealed. Maybe one day I will play it.

I was originally gonna say Urban Champion but honesty it’s just boring, not terrible.

Ice Climber, however, is an abysmal turd.

The funny thing is that I feel if the game had much better controls, Ice Climbers would be a fun arcade game.

Outside of the Mii games or anything of the sorts. I'm gonna go with this one. Just boring all around with a horrid soundtrack to boot.

I feel personally attacked lol

I kid, I kid. I can understand it though. After the amazing Wooly World, which is just as a fantastic game as the original Yoshi's Island once people learn to let go of the original (and it is still an amazing game), they will find a game that nails the pacing, collectibles, exploration, and challenge. The bonus levels are no joke, and like a good Nintendo game, it starts off easy and then ramps up without ever feeling frustrating. And like the original game, the challenge is doing a perfect run. One thing Wooly World does better than the original for sure, is that progress saves. Meaning, I don't have to have all the stars, red coins, and flowers in one go. If I miss the flowers, but I have all the red coins... I do not have to get all the red coins all over again.

Crafted World is an odd game. It plays well. The designs are great too. But it also had some missteps. One, lacked the challenge of Wooly World. Two, the bonus objectives were not that fun. Three, short as heck and less variety after being spoiled by Wooly World.

I will say this, the last half of the game was a lot of fun. But the first half was... just okay. Shame. Because the horror world and the ninja world were an absolute blast.

It’s a cop out answer to say Soccer or some random obscure game on NES/SNES. Anybody can say that. It’s better to look at series with huge disappointments like Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival.

Well I'm going by what I've played and very few NES games are anything more than a distraction for me. It's not any more weird than folk bringing up 3D Mario or 3D Zelda or 3D Metroid games, all of which I'd take over an NES game any day. I grew up with 3D consoles so a lot of these older games are before my time and don't do it for me

It’s not a cop out if it’s true lol. Those are still Nintendo games and they’re bad. OP said worst, not most disappointing.

Amiibo Festival and Zip Lash and the like are also great answers. Crappy Nintendo games are found in all generations.

I wouldn't call it the worst game that Nintendo published, but Qix for Game Boy has some intermission screens with Mario that have aged rather poorly in the three decades since release. There is also a sprite in the original Doki Doki Panic that was also very cringe inducing and thankfully was changed when it was made into Super Mario Brothers 2.
