Wave Race needs a 1080p 60 fps remaster with online

F-Zero X is in fact the best Nintendo racing game. Even just bumping it up to GX-level graphics would result in near-perfection.

F-Zero all-stars please, followed by an all new one soon after.

Just made myself cry at the thought of this never happening.

Wave Race is pretty good, too.

It's a little odd that they have relatively obscure games like Winback and Sin and Punishment but no Wave Race on their online coming.

I know Nintendo likes to say "o dear we can't bring such-and-such series back until there is some new freshness that justifies its existence to the Gawds and allows us to deliver wonderful smiles to the faces of players".

Well, sometimes, a lot of times, its totally OK and awesome to just update a game with higher performance and visual assets and play options. It really is ok, especially if its been a whole freaking generation or two or three. I wish Nintendo would come to understand this.
That tactic also delivers plenty of smiles. Plenty 🤬

So, 2 things:

1) The original Wave Race was on Game Boy.
2) Purely from a visual perspective, they did make a more beautiful Wave Race, and that was Blue Storm.

Other than those 2 nitpicks, I agree completely.

I can't agree that Blue storm was better looking. Its art style never aged as well.

It's graphics were more advanced but the original Wave Race is like polygon porn and the color and art is breathtaking. Especially cleaned up.

The water in Wave Race 64 still looks absolutely beautiful. Not only that, the jetskis handle perfectly.

I'd prefer them just to release t on Switch, especially in an all-stars pack with 1080 and Pilotwings. Obviously that's not going to happen now that N64 games are part of the online subscription, but I can't help thinking that a remaster might lose a lot of the charm of Wave Race 64.

It's my favourite game of all time.

Given it was on both Wii and Wii U, it should come to NSO. That should also mean 720p.

Nintendo keeps saying that they don't release a new F-Zero (and probably Wave Race and 1080º) because they have nothing new to add.

But this is just ridiculous.

1) I can't play those games today, even if I wanted the very same game it would be impossible to legally play them ou to legally buy them today.

2) They say they have nothing new to add and this is why they don't release new entries, and yet they keep releasing Mario Party almost annually. The same goes for some sports games like golf and tennis where these new versions are completely barebones.

So many good franchises they could be developing... Imagine a pack with Wave Race, Excite Bike, and 1080º... a new F-Zero, a new Sin and Punishment, new Kid Icarus...

They don't really keep saying it, we just keep repeating it.

Super Mario Party is over three years old now. And whether you enjoy each entry or not, the mechanics of each Mario Golf and Mario Tennis have changed a fair amount with each release.

I must be a rare species because I've never actually played Wave Race 64 and I don't see why Blue Storm it's seen as "bad". In fact, I think it's one of the best Gamecube games. They should do a new one keeping the same music style. So good!
