The wait for Deltarune Ch. 3 - 5 is gonna be PAINFUL

We're getting up there in years, almost gonna be the big 3-0 in a few. These waits are getting painful man. I just want to play more of the funny annoying dog game with the off the wall sense of humor and the existential horror mixed in, you know?

I decided to wait to try chapter 2 because of that... It sucks to wait but I'm sure it's gonna be worth it!

It could be faster now, a lot of stuff is already finished. For me the really hard part will be waiting for the last two chapters 6-7, depending on how the cliff hanger will play out.

There was some unused headers found in Chapter 2 labelled "Chapter 0", "Chapter 8", "Chapter 9", and "Chapter 10" so Chapter 7 may just be a guestimate on Toby's part

I don't think it's going to be another 3 years before we get more Deltarune content. There's a fair amount of up front work that had to go into Chapter 2, like settling on the engine and building the dev team, that won't have to be repeated for later chapters.

I'm hoping that, now that Toby's got a dedicated team together, that it won't take as long to get future Deltarune chapters. I imagine the team worked out a lot of the production kinks with Ch 2, so it should (again, hopefully) be relatively smoother sailing from here, right?

I’m pretty optimistic honestly. I think we’ll see 3-4-5 in 2 years tops.

This is why I haven't played them yet. Don't like the concept of episodic content for a game like this, though I get why they chose to do it.
