News The DioField Chronicle, a brand-new strategy RPG from SE, out now on PC and consoles (UPDATE: free content update announced, launches March 2023)

Was one of the few properly new games in that state of play that looked decent.
Visually it's weird though, the character models in cutscenes look just really generic and not very good and then the character portraits look really out of place with the rest of the style the game has.

Not too into RTS games, but I'll give it a shot. It looks a little weird. Platinum has me a bit worried given the quality of most of their recent output.
Also apparently the writer worked on Fire emblem Awakening

It looked somewhat similar to Lost Order, the cancelled mobile game they worked on with Matsuno for CyGames. This doesn't seem to involve Matsuno but it's a collabo between SE, PG and Lancarse.

I'm quite excited about this game. Awakening's story was one of the worst Fire Emblem's stories to me but I'll give the benefit of the doubt.

I feel like I should be excited for this in theory, butā€¦ I'll have to see more of it before I pass my judgement.

If this is Lancarse, I actually ended up enjoying my time with Lost Dimension, even if the storytelling was a little generic and it relied on a very samey NG+ run to see the true ending.

Feels like a real glut of strategy titles at the moment though. I love it, but I'm not gonna have time for them all.

I'm in strategy bliss right now... Triangle Strategy, new RTS from Square and potentially new mainline FE this year/early 2023.

Oh wait itā€™s real-time? Hmm!

Also, the name Waltaquin Redditch lol. Yeah, pleasure to meet you, Iā€™m Catherick Swindon.

There is no mention of Platinum's logo in the debut trailer, although it is present in all the games they develop.

Ok it not being platinum is nice. Still I'm generally not too into RTS games unless they're really good, it looks kinda of like a mix of a standard RTS and FE gameplay, not really my jam. Gonna try out a demo to see if I'm into it if there is on, if not will wait on impressions

Good lord, it IS the year of turn based strategy!
Seriously, itā€™s like what, the fourth one this year too?

Game looks good too on the visuals side, if a bit generic Square-style fantasy. Also need a better look at the gameplay.

This will be nice to tide me over to the next FE too, If its spaced out well we may get TS, then this, then a new FE evenly spaced with like 4-5 months between them. Good year to be an SRPG fan

Diofield looks great! Excited Square has been greenlighting all these strategy games after not making them in forever.

The map graphics are something else. I love the diorama look. Seems like I saw a summon in there too. I want to see more of this game.
