Tetris Effect: Connected Switch gameplay

Tetris Effect: Connected gets its first gameplay on Switch showing off the puzzle title. The game is on track for an October 8 launch.

First Switch gameplay is in for Tetris Effect: Connected, straight from Enhance Games, Resonair and Stage Games, and Monstars. The studio posted a couple of videos highlighting Journey Mode and multiplayer.

I want to get this but I’ll probably wait for a sale. I have the PS4 and Xbox versions and they got HDR, but I’m also getting an OLED, which this will probably look really nice on.

I have spent so much time on Tetris 99, so I am pretty stoked for this. Can never have too much Tetris! It looks so pretty too.

Woah. Didn't realise this was coming out so soon. Will add to the wish list asap. Usually I go for physical releases, but I suspect this isn't getting one. Plus it's probably worthwhile having a Tetris game that's always on the Switch.

Did they ever fix up Lumines Remastered on Switch? Heard it had issues like input lag, framerate issues, and no/bad touch controls and whatnot?

I already played the hell out of Tetris Effect on PC and Connected on Xbox, so I don't feel the need to triple-dip. Just chiming in to tell you: don't sleep on this. It's simply amazing, with some of most soothing and relaxing visuals and soundscapes ever used in a puzzle game. It's a very Lumines-like approach to Tetris, just arguably even better. Have fun!

I already have the game on PS4, but playing this in handheld with headphones on? Yes please.

The footage looks great, but it's always difficult to watch somebody else playing Tetris. At least my mind starts moving the blocks on its own, and there's a weird feeling when they go to the wrong places.

This actually looks and runs great, guess the porting process was a success heh.
But ill have to wait for a sale because i cant justify another purchase during this busy Holiday season.
Still great to have another quality Tetris addition to the library.

This game is pretty much the reason I bought a PS4 - Very excited to pick it up on Switch as well!

I think this will be perfect for train journeys which is typical since I've spent about 20 hours on trains in the last month and now have no more booked...

It's definitely worth $40. A quality experience that'll last you hundreds of hours if not more (I've put 1,600 hours into Tetris 99).

digital only. like most big eshop games tho i won't be surprised if it gets a physical release later.

I found this a bit tough to get into on Xbox after going ham on Tetris 99 because it feels like such a fundamentally different experience plus I'm not hugely into "audiovisual experience" games like Rez and its ilk. Still might try to give it another shot once it drops in price a bit.

Tetris is a perfect video game. Add in a fantastic audio/visual presentation and you have a…perfect-er video game.

It’s just a cool new way to play Tetris. I think if you don’t already love Tetris, this won’t change your thoughts on the game.

$40 dollars seems a bit steep for Tetris, but the again, I paid 40 bucks for Puyo Puyo Tetris which is a good game (and made me realize I cannot grasp Puyo). My wife always gets me eshop cards as a stocking stuffer, so maybe for Christmas.

showing my ass here, but i find this variant of tetris simply okay. i’m a highly emotional dude and i get moved by pictures of puppies but this game left me strangely cold, and i’ve played it on two different systems (series x and VR). really cool visuals, but maybe the music is a little cheesy for me.

Well, it is just Tetris with pretty graphics and great music, but it ties those two elements with the gameplay masterfully. It's always a great time to just put headphones / VR on, and play through the ~2hrs of stages with wildly different vibes.

Played it a few years back with the PSVR and it was Tetris alright, but I have to ask the question regarding the Switch port. Why the hell is there so much wasted screen real-estate?

You know that secret level in Kirby Star Allies that uses the HD rumble to make tones in music? Well... Tetris Effect Connected does it, too!
