Saw this on twitter earlier and haven't seen a post about this yet so here goes:

On October 7th a new free Update for Tales of Arise will be released with the following contents:
  • New Easiest and Unknown Difficulties
  • Three New Battles for the Training Grounds (with special "joke" weapons as rewards - see images on linked article)
Additionally there will also be a paid Crossover-DLC with Sword Art Online for 1,760 Yen (about 15$):
  • Alphen and Law receive a costume based on Kirito; Shione receives one based on Asuna
  • Battle against Kirito and Asuna at the Battle Grounds
  • Winning gives you Kirito's Sword as well as a special Mystic Arte for Alphen

Currently still on my first playthrough but I think it's really nice to get another difficulty to increase replay value. Hope the new difficulty actually makes the battles tougher and is not just a case of giving them even more HP though, cause they are already very spongy on the available difficulties.

The SAO DLC really took me by suprise. Defenitely won't buy it because my goodness, that is way too expensive for what you get in return and I also am not a fan of SAO at all. XD

I find the game to be sufficiently difficult on the normal setting but more options is always nice. I can't see myself replaying this one anytime soon so I'll probably not experience any of this stuff. If they add any new areas I'll come back to check them out since the game is super pretty.

That SAO DLC seems ridiculously expensive for how little content it adds. But I guess that's true for most of Arise's DLC.

Dang, this thread got me excited for a second, thought it was about the Switch port. It needs to come to Switch for me to finish. Bought Zestiria and Berseria but couldn't finish due to lack of time.
