News Suikoden I&II HD Remaster announced, coming to PC and consoles March 6th, 2025 (UPDATE: new TGS trailer, see threadmarks)

After June, I kind of figured that 2023 was a long shot. Oh well. The wait will be worth it.
Yeah, it has become odd that we haven't heard anything until today, considering the rating in Taiwan.

There's always enough to play in the meantime.

main thing I was hoping to see out of this Direct once I saw it was a partner showcase

6 months is a while but i'll take it nice to actually see a date for this

To my untrained eyes it looks as if the games have undergone an extra pass of lighting work and post-processing, or alternatively the first trailer was a true work-in-progress build. Now all scenes seem to have depth whereas before the remastering work felt more uneven.

Quite excited to eventually try out these classic titles. Never played a Suikoden and Suiko 2 is still very much considered a must.

Looking good. Probably for the best it isn't slated for 2024 still considering the quantity of RPGs in the coming months. Best to let it breathe.

This might be a double dip for me. I love playing JRPGs on the Switch obviously, but it feels wrong to not buy this on PlayStation.
Understandable, I remember when the PSone Classic versions were the big announcement for the Vita back in the day and purchased them without a second thought. In the end I never got around to playing them so I'm glad to get another chance with the upcoming Switch release.

Delayed just to fuck with Eiyuden Chronicles. Classic Konami moves.
I saw this on socials since this remaster was announced and I don't know why it even became a narrative. To start, why would this sabotage Eiyuden instead of bringing more attention to it? They didn't have to do shit with the series but they're at least giving us this collection.

Anyways, I'm glad it's finally coming out. It looks like a great remaster of the best Suikoden (and its predecessor).
