Discussion Pyoro was right about everything thing.

Back in June, there were leaks stating there would be a Paper Mario remake, so I wasn't too shocked. Now, all we need is the rumored Fzero GX...
For me it was more we didn't know if it was going to be a remake/remaster or just a quick GCN port drop like Pikmin 1/2 were, and especially with Super Mario RPG already revealed I assumed the latter. So I guess the surprise was slightly spoiled, but setting my expectations low for it meant I was still super surprised/excited when it turned out to be a remake?

I'm beginning to wonder if he's a sanctioned Nintendo leaker, maybe even Nintendo PR. Not giving away the games and letting people guess while giving clear irrefutable hints that retrospectively points to the correct answer is very interesting.

There's very little lost in terms of the execitement for directs, and it increases the engagement of the people online following.

Contract this to leakers looking for credibility & clout who just blurt out the games or those obnoxious 4chan posts and lists.

Reaction videos are no worse then bad, attention-seeking hot takes on message boatds.
It's not a hot take by any stretch of the imagination, just stating a fact.

A natural reaction to something is quite different to setting up a camera to film yourself and/or others dramatically reacting to something to show an audience.

No, Nintendo isn't spending tons of money to do all the legwork in creating the directs in order to have some nobody on twitter blow their entire first party load. If they wanted to announce things that's at, they'd just do it on their own twitter accounts

Pyoro or his source almost certainly has access to YouTube’s backend and thus can see videos Nintendo uploads before they go public. He has never leaked anything in depth regarding mechanics, simply names or information picked up from the thumbnail art. These types of leaks have happened before, but it is a bit surprising that Pyoro’s gone two Directs without getting caught.

I have to give him credit for not making guesses or assumptions, only discussing things he has seen with his own eyes.

We've been over this, Pyoro clearly does not have youtube back end because

1) Pyoro hasn't leaked things they should with that method like the Peach game (summer direct) or TTYD remake (fall direct)

2) Pyoro has leaked things that didn't get a youtube upload (Everybody 1-2 Switch.

3) Pyoro very clearly called out people who claimed they're just a youtube backend leaker, and as their actions have shown, they're not afraid to call out people who get things wrong (all the "delete your account" comments)

Pyoro very clearly called out people who claimed they're just a youtube backend leaker,

What do you imagine they're going to do, say "hahahaha yeah you got me", so that both Nintendo and Youtube know exactly where to look? Anyone with even two brain cells to rub together would deny it regardless of it's accurate or not.

They did technically though: the "What will close the Direct?" tweet was a hint towards TTYD as pointed above, they even liked tweets that said as such.

We know there source isn't only youtube back end thanks to E1-2S. Even if Pyoro technically did try and leak TTYD remake, it still stands that they didn't leak the Peach game or Luigi's Mansion remake in the Summer which youtube back end would have told them.

It shouldn't take two brain cells to realize their source can't be exclusively youtube back end, if they even have youtube back end access at all (which I doubt). The theory about marketing material access makes far more sense based upon the things they have or haven't revealed thus far.

i really like the way pyoro leaks over other people tbh, he mostly leaves the good surprises as such and only reveals middling/minor stuff. if there's a cool surprise I want it to be a surprise!

Although I wish he didn't leak F-Zero 99, would've preferred that be a surprise. go ahead and leak stuff like Mario vs donkey Kong but leave the good surprises completely untouched. think just hunting at them in a general sense (e.g. "expect 2 crowd pleasers") is the best way to go

Yeah, it just makes for an interesting thing to think about because some stuff still would leave a discernible trail that could be rooted out.

Even high level/corporate access to upcoming distribution lists for store catalogs and the like would probably be a short list.

Either way, I'm enjoying the bit of chaos and merriment! LOL

I don't agree. Pyoro did have knowledge of TTYD. That's what his "close the direct" tweet was hinting at. Everybody 1-2 Switch did have a YouTube upload which was released simultaneously with the announcement on Twitter. His knowledge is very specific such as him knowing about the Sonic rabbit skin in Superstars. That was something announced in a trailer on YouTube as well.

No disrespect to Pyoro (in fact I find his shtick very entertaining). I'm not saying he's a YT backend leaker but I have yet to see him leak anything that couldn't have been from a YT upload.

sorry, I'm dumb, but what is a " YT backend leaker", does it mean he knows what Nintendo uploads on youtube?
like if he was some google employee or something?

that would explain his leaks a lot.

Yeah, like an engineer or a developer who has access to scheduled uploads. It has been known to happen. He could either be one himself or (more likely) know someone who is.

what's the other confirmed instance of this happening? the only time I recall we ever got the source of a leak confirmed was when a nintendo employee uploaded a picture the file directory of a direct, with all the trailer names and whatnot

There wasn't a youtube upload for E1-2S until June 20th, Pyoro tweeted the game would be announced soon on May 29th which was announced on June 1st. There was no community post about E1-2S ever. E1-2S was only announced on Twitter for almost a month before a youtube video was uploaded.

Everyone celebrating this should just wear a t-shirt that says, "Pyoro was right about everything." If for nothing else but the invaluable life lessons that should soon follow from wearing it. More like "life lessens" though, right?

are you implying that someone would get the shit beaten out of them for wearing a shirt with a nonsequitur on it

or maybe the metaphorical meaning of life? that wearing shirts with nonsequiturs makes you a loser? not sure that I'd argue with that one

More so the latter. But hey, no wrong answers, ironically.

But Nintendo Directs are livestreamed directly from Nintendo, not pre-uploaded, right?
No, they are Premiers not Livestreams.

Remember when Konami fucked up their Silent Hill event by simply posting a video that seemingly for no reason had a several minutes long countdown at the beginning? It's because whoever ran their youtube account fucked up and set a date to unprivate the video instead of setting a premier date.

I think it was mentioned in the Direct thread that Nintendo readies a playlist of trailers in YT and then publishes them
Not just the individual trailers but also the direct itself is pre-uploaded to youtube then set to a Premier date, thats why the Direct videos always say "Premier" instead of "Live" when they first play on Youtube.
